Thank you so much for your interest in booking with us. I would like to add some notes here about COVID19 and some small changes that may affect you.. I would like to tell you about our enhanced cleaning routine. Obviously cleaning is now more important than ever Cleanliness has always been top of our mind for our guests, but it’s even more critical as we all aim to reduce the spread of infection. The difference between disinfecting and cleaning: When it comes to preventing the spread of germs, it helps to understand the difference between cleaning and disinfecting. Cleaning is the act of removing germs, dirt, and impurities. Disinfecting is when you use chemicals to kill germs (like spraying with a bleach solution). By cleaning first, then disinfecting, we can lower the risk of infection, and this we will endeavour to do to our best ability. We will however need to make it an easier environment to achieve this,and will therefore be temporarily removing some items you may want to bring with you. • Hairdryer • Sadly all our lovely soft furnishings such as bed throws and cushions • Portable cribs and playpens and High chairs – these are available to you in the shed, but at your own risk. You will need to get them yourselves and clean them to your own standard and put them back in the shed. It is the only way we can offer these, and you feel safe using them. • The same goes for all beach items in the shed. • Books and dvd’s Our cleaners will need the protection of PPE and I am afraid the cleaning is likely to take twice as long to ensure extra surfaces such as light switches handles etc etc get the double clean the whole house will need. The property needs to be opened up for half an hour prior to cleaning, and St Ives is going to be a traffic free environment, which limits there time to get to the laundry company and town centre properties. Therefore,check in day will be very tight so they need to ask for check out by 9am and check in no earlier than 5pm. You are welcome to leave your car at the property to walk into town though, but I would ask you do not enter the house outside of these hours. The laundry will now need to be outsourced and we will need to wash the mattress and pillow protectors every time. The cleaners have requested that you please strip all the beds and place laundry in the zip up bags provided and include towels so there is minimal handling. (including any beds not slept in). all bedding will then stay in these bags for 72 hours. The cleaners will need PPE which is included in the new rates as is a selection of cleaning/sanitising items we will leave for you and only you. We have fitted wall mounted auto dispense soap dispensers in the bathroom and kitchen with Anti Bac soap. This I am afraid has added a significant increase in the cleaning and laundry charges from last year, but we hope this will give you some comfort that we have your safety in mind as best we can. We will endeavour to make this as safe an environment for you and your family as we can. Jayne x
