Just returned from a family holiday in August and wish to thank Patricia for a lovely stay. Patricia is a wonderful hostess - her emails with directions and suggestions were spot on, and she very kindly provided us with some basic groceries for our arrival (late evening on a Sunday) which was a life-saver. The house itself was rustic, very clean, and with all the amenities you could wish for, and the swimming pool was of course fantastic. The weather was hot and sunny when we were here (over 30 for about 9 of the 11 days) and hence we were especially grateful for the areas of dappled shade over the pool and sitting area - plenty of space for sun-bathing but nice to be able to retreat if needs be. We all loved the complete privacy, not overlooked at all, allowing some areas to be tanned that haven't seen the light of day for a while! We tended to go out one day (canoeing, for example) then spend the next day recovering by the pool. Most evenings we had a barbecue and ate most of our meals outside at the covered, shaded table. Perhaps the only negatives I can think of is the occasional early morning grumble of the distant tractor as a farmer does his stuff - personally I like the sound of someone else working whilst I'm on holiday - and being from the north of England we would have used some AC had it been available, but soon got into the swing of keeping shutters closed to keep the house cool during the day. Other points to note are the nearby supermarkets (tended to use the big one in Hautefort, only about 10mins away); I'd recommend using the small bakery at the bottom of the hill for bread and especially their croissants. Patricia's homemade fig jam was also very good! All in all a great place for a relaxing family holiday.

Dear Craig, Thank you very much for your beautiful review! Thank you for taking the Time to give us some insights. This Summer has been one of the warmest of the Century, it seems the 3 fans were not enough and I apologize. We will do better next year! You will be welcome anytime.

We had a wonderful stay here. The pool was fantastic and the grounds also brilliant for our dog (a Vizsla, always on the go). There is also a great network of tracks and paths through the woods perfect for bikes and runs. The house itself is charming, comfortable and practical and the grounds and pool were well looked after for us by Paul. All in all a perfect family vacation.

This is definitely a countryside house and has all the pros and cons you can imagine which comes with countryside living. Sat in the middle of neighbouring dairy farms, the surroundings are peaceful and beautiful. Patricia has filled the home with paintings and art works she's made herself and it's quick to see that she is a family person. The house and contents are charming and rustic -typical countryside living. Some appliances and utensils are a little outdated, but suffice to make a meal for a family. There is no iron or washing machine at the house. We had a few issues with the electrics and the boiler at first but Patricia's son-in-law Stephane was quickly over to fix. Rebecca and Stephane (Patricia's daughter and son-in-law) were perfect hosts, friendly and helpful and keen to make a happy holiday for us. We were disappointed in the wifi quality, but this is to be expected in countryside living so make sure you have plenty books at hand. There is a DVD player -bring along your own DVDs. The pool was spectacular - we spent most of our days (when not exploring sights and nearby towns) in the pool and sat eating dinner on the patio overlooking views of stunning sunsets. We had a good time, thank you Patricia.
