The space

My apartment is located just right behind the main piazza of Bevagna, next to the pubblic washes of ancient times. It's 55sm big with beautiful tipical umbrian wooden beams and can comfortably host 2 people. The entrance leads into a living area with well equipped kitchen (fridge, microwave, electric kettle,...), sofa and TV rather than a dining island. Upstairs, instead, there's a bedroom with a double bed, the bathroom with a shower and a lumber room with the washing mashine. It is possible to add a crib in case of need or to add a bed down in the livingroom in case you're travelling as a family. In front of the house, I have a private little outside space with a bistro table, ideal for breakfast or tea time, to read a good book in peace or have a good glass of wine at the end of the day.

Guest access

Our guests can use all the services the apartment is offering, such as a washing mashine, a microwave oven, the heater and mobile airconditioning and, last but not least, WIFI Internet access.

Interaction with guests

Me and my partner are living in another town close to Bevagna. I will be always available, though, from the beginning until the end of your stay. Whenever you should have a doubt or question, before booking or during your journey in Umbria, don't hesitate and contact me: I will be there for you and organize what you ask me for!

The neighbourhood

Already Bevagna itself has lots to offer: It's a tipical umbrian medieval town, built on roman remains, featuring the contrast of ecclesiastic and common power everywhere. The history appears to its visitors in every corner of the village. Moreover, Bevagna is famous for its craft tradition and in fact, there's still many parlors opening up to the town's lanes.
Furthermore, besides the famous "Festival of the Gaite" in june which commemorates the medieval crafts and markets, from about april until late november, the town celebrates a large range of festivals, dedicated for example to the medieval spring time, a Guitar festival, the feast of the snails and a contemporary art exhibition on bambagina paper.
If after all of this excitement you want to relax, Bevagna and my neighbourhood offer so many good restaurants with terrific local kitchen and outdoor cafés that you only need to choose.
Last but not least, another good idea of what to do during your stay could be to take a relaxing walk or bike trip along the Timia river which leads you until the village of Trevi.

Getting around

Parking spots are easy to find in Bevagna and you will be able to walk the whole town by foot. There is trains from Foligno and busses going to other towns in Umbria, but I actually always advice to rent a car for these occasions because you just enjoy more freedom.

Other things to note

Like to try Umbria's wine and oil or be introduced to the secrets of local kitchen? Want to discover Bevagna and surroundings in bicycle, participate at the Infiorata Festival in Spello or do a fun tour in Foligno living the authentic italian lifestyle ? This is a new service I offer to my guests. Kitchen classes or visits at some of Umbria's most particular wineries, a truffle hunt up on the mountains or bike and vintage scooter tours in a group or by yourself - my local assistant will organise everything for you.
If then you want an "italian mamma" to come over to your house and cook for you, this will just make your holidays an unforgettable trip...

The apartment is charming and rustic, a good reflection of the old town of Bevagna. The location is perfect and it was very quiet. The house is clean and cozy. Anja & Barbara are very attentive, hospitable hosts and were available whenever we needed something. Take note however, that there is no wifi and very little phone service in the actual apartment. Though a (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) tablet is provided for any internet needs.

We had an amazing time in Bevagna, not only because this sleepy medieval town is itself an incredible place, but also because of how helpful and accommodating Barbara and Anja were during our stay. They made sure that we got the authentic Umbrian experience. The apartment itself is spacious and has a wonderfully warm and homey character. Bevanga's charm is hard to forget, and I can't wait to come back and would love again to stay at Barbara's cosy apartment!

This was a great experience. We communicated with Anja, and she was very easy to communicate with and she was responsive. Check in was simple - we met with Anja at the apartment and she oriented us. The apartment was comfortable and cute. The pictures accurately reflected it. We loved the apartment. It is just off the main piazza and very close to the two unrestricted parking lots. Bevagna is charming, and a good base for day trips around Umbria. We would happily stay at this apartment again.

This is a great apartment, very light and airy considering it's historic design and well laid out. It is perfectly located within Bevagna and provides a good base for anyone wishing to explore the delights of Umbria during their stay. The apartment was very clean and tidy and sufficient pots, pans and utensils supplied to make self-catering viable, although we mostly dined out during our stay. We only had two slight gripes about our stay. Firstly we were staying over the Christmas and New Year period which meant we had the heating on a lot to keep the place warm. Although the heating worked extremely well and kept the apartment nice and warm, the old boiler was very noisy and being located next the bedroom meant that we had to turn the heating off at night if we wanted to sleep. The other slight niggle was concerning Wi-Fi. There appears to be no hard-wired internet connection via a modem within the house, so you are reliant on a mobile phone connection for internet access and due to the thickness of the walls this is almost non-existent. Barbara did kindly supply a tablet which managed to lock onto a signal slightly better than our mobile phones but it was still hopelessly slow. This wasn't a problem for us as we were out most of the time but if you are looking to rent somewhere with a good internet connection then this is not the place.

Response from Barbara:
Thank you, Corinna and Stephen, for this great review! While we did immediately repair the boiler about which' problem we got to know only from you, it will be hard to manage the WIFI connection. I know from guests that stayed for months in my apartment and had to rely on Internet for their work, that the situation I put on my guests disposal is working usually perfect, and then it seems as if Bevagna is in a black whole where no matter what you do, WIFI just won't work. Hopefully time will change that matter... Take care and keep beautiful memories of your stay, Barbara

Bevagna is a delightful little medieval town, brimming with history and culture. It has an extraordinary number of terrific restaurants for its size. Barbara has been a very pleasant host, and Anja has assisted with most day to day matters in a most kind and generous manner. The little house is sweet; very clean and quite well fitted out. We did have considerable difficulty with the wifi - due primarily to the amazing architecture! The location is excellent. Couple of minor issues: the shower cabin is very small and the water pressure is very limited - but there is plenty of hot water. We have enjoyed our stay here very much.
