About this place

La Porta di Todi is a sustainable bed and breakfast located in the heart of Umbria, ideal for those looking for a perfect spot to relax in a cosy, quiet and familiar environment. Our house, located within the ancient walls, offers the convenience of being close to the main monuments and various services of the city. For those who need to park, free parking is available within walking distance. We are happy to welcome guests, travellers and friends to the beautiful city of Todi!

The space
Our house is a unique mix of tradition, originality and simplicity, characterised by family furniture and reused objects. The B&B is spread over two floors, connected by a convenient internal staircase. Guests can use the first floor, where we also live, and enjoy a very spacious room that offers a beautiful view of the valley.

Guest access
Free wireless connection is available throughout the house. For stays of at least 5 days, guests can use a washing machine. In addition, an iron and ironing board are provided.

During your stay
I like to give guests the opportunity to connect with the location, and for this reason, the Todi Gate promotes responsible and sustainable tourism. Meeting travelers and curious people from all over the world is one of the reasons I like to manage a b&b. Breakfast, prepared by me with passion, is made with local and seasonal products, possibly organic or 0 km, and homemade dessert is never lacking! For our cycling or walking guests, I always prepare a more energetic breakfast. I can take care of any intolerances if you let me know in advance.

Other things to note
The tourist accommodation tax is not included in the price. Each guest will pay €1.50 per day in cash. Children under the age of 15 are excluded.

Neighbourhood highlights

The Porta Romana neighborhood is special and convenient as it is inside the city walls and at the same time close to all services, so you can easily get around on foot. Living in the historic center and inside a medieval house has a lot of charm... that of History and we are still lucky enough in the summer to see our alley "come alive" with the presence of the elderly and children.

Belgian by origin and now Italian by adoption, I moved to this beautiful country 37 years ago. Managing a B&B has always been a dream for me in the drawer ... and this dream finally came true in 2008, when I decided to move here to Umbria, to the beautiful city of Todi. Why a B&B? Because I like to meet new, different people, share experiences of life and travel... in fact, the name of my house was not chosen by chance... "La Porta di Todi" : it is an open door to the world where hospitality is in the first place, a place where time stops, where to go slow is the only way not to miss the pleasure of an experience in contact with art and nature. The B&B promotes responsible and sustainable tourism and therefore it is important for me to preserve the environment by paying attention to the reduction, reuse and correct recycling of waste. I like to cook for my guests and therefore I particularly take care of the breakfast I prepare with healthy and possibly organic products and zero km. If you want to take a trip, a trip or just spend a different day, away from the hectic pace, don't hesitate and knock on us, we'll be there to welcome you!
