The space

Come on in and cook yourself a meal on our Wedgewood stove, sit in our breakfast nook with your coffee while looking out onto gorgeous trees, dream of sipping tequila while admiring the massive Agave from the front porch.

Master bedroom has an organic King size bed, and a private balcony. On a clear day you can catch glimpses of San Francisco.

Second bedroom (nursery) has a fold out full size bed, a large crib, changing table etc.

Third bedroom is used as our Pilates/Yoga room, and is complete with a Reformer/Trapeze table combo. If you are proficient at Pilates you are welcome to use the equipment with prior permission. Otherwise, the equipment will be moved to the side and stored to make room for an air mattress.

There is wireless internet, a stereo with hookups for your iPod/phone, and we have a fully stocked kitchen with a gas range, oven, toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker. There are 2 full bathrooms, one with a tub and shower, the other has a shower only.

There is plenty of on street parking, and two off street parking options. We are on a narrow, winding road with no parking limitations.

The home is located just above the bustling little neighborhood of Rockridge, which sits on the Oakland Berkeley border. We are about 5 blocks from College Ave, which includes:

- More coffee shops than you can possibly visit. Cole Coffee has amazing coffee and a fanatic weekend following. Or turn the other way and you have a dozen other great choices.
- Fancy and Upscale places with great ambiance (Thai, American, California Cuisine, Italian).
- Inexpensive comfort foods: Indian, Mexican and Thai.
- Bank of America.
- Safeway for groceries.

It is as safe a neighborhood as you can imagine. We go for late-night walks all the time and always feel safe.

There are amazing hikes very nearby including some of the "Secret Stairways of Oakland", just a stones throw away from our door, and a fabulous Farmers Market just a short trek away!

Our home is centrally located with bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and all the rest.

This was a beautiful house in a very nice neighborhood. Close to the Berkeley campus and lots of good restaurants. Everything was very clean when we arrived. We would have appreciated knowing that there was no TV. After all, we're not spending all our time out and about. Also, the house was not well insulated and we had a difficult time staying warm on some cold January days. Probably wouldn't be a problem most of the year.

We had an incredible stay in this beautiful Oakland Hills home. Truly a sanctuary in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Oakland. We found ourselves abandoning our original plans to explore the area near this residence, from beautiful neighborhoods to walk through to fun restaurants and shops nearby. The interior of the home is gorgeous, with unique design elements that truly make it stand out. We wish we could have extended our trip just to stay in the home.

The stay was awesome - the place was in a very nice scenic neighborhood, has full kitchen and plenty of space (I stayed here with 4 other people). The house was clean and the host put away most of the personal items so it felt un-cluttered. The place is also a walking (15-20 minute) distance from BART and a bunch of restaurants and bars. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Oakland or SF Bay.

I have a lust for life, and am constantly seeking out new experiences. I love to travel! When I'm home, I teach Pilates, operate a Pilates studio that I own, write in my blog and try to teach people how to feel better in their bodies through better posture and movement. I feel fortunate that I find my work meaningful and significant, and that I enjoy it immensely.

I live with my husband, Greg, and our son, Desmond.

Our home is our sanctuary- we love it! We look out onto Redwood trees every morning when we have our coffee and breakfast, and are entertained by the antics of a few squirrels that scuttle around eating figs from a nearby tree. Our neighborhood is amazing- we have great neighbors, a gorgeous neighborhood, full of Craftsman style homes, cafes, restaurants...anything one could possibly desire.
