Description

The space

This apartment is located on the second floor of a historic 114 year old building in the heart of the Historic Mississippi District. It sits above a corner coffee shop (The Fresh Pot) and the natural light from the south and east make this space glow. The corner location makes for great people watching too.

Interaction with guests

My neighbor or I will be on site to greet you and provide a tour of the building. I am available by phone or text to answer any questions. The neighbor can also be reached by phone or text if needed.

The neighbourhood

The Mississippi District is diverse and lively. There are many independent shops, restaurants, bars and even a large natural foods supermarket (New Seasons) within walking distance on N. Williams, a street filled with bars, restaurants, and shops... The Alberta Arts District is also nearby.

Getting around

The #4 Tri Met Bus stop is half a block away (on N. Mississippi Ave.) and the Yellow Line Max Train (Prescott Station) is 4 blocks away. This is a great neighborhood to walk and bike in. On street parking is also available.

Rachel was a great host, very accommodating and easy to communicate with. She even stopped by and dropped of some coffee for us to have in the morning! Her apartment is exactly as described, very comfortable and spacious. Perfect location! Would definitely stay there again!

The apartment was spacious and warm and smelled like fresh coffee in the morning from the cafe downstairs. We loved staying on Mississippi because you could walk to so many breweries, shops, and restaurants. Rachel was really helpful and friendly. She had some bread and coffee stocked for us in the kitchen which came in handy. Mississippi was a bit loud on Saturday night but it's not too late of a crowd and if you go out it probably wouldn't be noticeable. They had really good records for rainy day listening and a comfortable bed. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend her place.

Rachel was a great host. We had a lovely time and enjoyed being right above the coffee shop. There was plenty of space and the surrounding area was beautiful. It was nice to just listen to records on the rainy days and grab some good eats when we were out and about.

Rachel's place was so cute and the location really can't be beat! It's right above a coffee shop and surrounded by shops and other restaurants. I plan to stay here again in the future!

We really loved our stay in Portland, and Rachel's apartment was a big part of our experience. The location (the neighborhood is full of small shops, cafés, restaurants, etc) proximity to public transport, cleanliness, calm, and character made every minute of it, and real pleasure. Would definitely recommend!

Rachel User ProfileRachel is a superhost.

I live in Portland, Oregon. I am involved in art, music, design, gardening and community development. I love cooking at home and dining out. I have a son and we both enjoy riding bikes. Due to my own chemical sensitivities I use only unscented products in my apartment and in the laundry room of the building. Natural products with plant based essential oils are OK too. Reading books is one of my favorite activities. I feel extremely lucky to live within bike, bus, train or urban hiking distance to almost anywhere in the city. My son and I are both learning Spanish and we enjoy meeting people and sharing some of the fun and quirky parts of our neighborhood in North Portland.
