The cottage is located on the grounds of our iconic 1888 residence (featured on the Grand Designs and the Under the Vines television series) and is surrounded by vineyards and mountains.

Access to the cycling trails starts at our driveway; there numerous cellar doors in the neighbourhood.

We are 25 minutes drive from the Coronet Peak ski hills and less than 15 minutes to Arrowtown (and some great restaurants!)

The space
The cottage was recently constructed and has double-glazed windows and excellent insulation. The bathroom has in-floor heating; there is a wood stove or a heat pump ensuring that you will be warm and cozy should you visit during the winter months.

If you let us know your arrival time in advance we will aim to have the fire roaring.

Cuddle up on the sofa and watch your favourite series, documentary or a movie on Netflix.

We provide Nespresso coffee so you can start your morning off right!

Gibbston is designated as a 'character zone'. Essentially this means that the number of houses in the valley is restricted and that the vineyards are protected from development. This ensures that the region retains its distinctive character.

Gibbston has one one of the most incredible landscapes of New Zealand with stark, rugged scenery contrasted with rolling vineyards. The views as you drive through the gorge are magnificent - as are the biking and hiking trails along the river.
