About this listing
Wake up to birdsong in our comfortable one bedroom apartment. Roam around the grounds and smell the roses or take a dip in the pool. Shops, cafes, the beach and the station for trains to Wellington are only minutes away by car. Perfect!
Kel-burn Turret is self-contained and has a double bedroom looking out over the garden and a nice living space with kitchen facilities that include a fridge, a microwave and an electric hob. Breakfast provisions are supplied and will be waiting for you when you arrive. These include homemade marmalade and fresh eggs from our hens.
There is a DVD player, with a selection of DVDs but no TV reception. There are also books and games for rainy days.
Outside there is garden furniture, both near the apartment and throughout the garden. There is also a barbecue for you to use. Eating outside is such a pleasure here. There is a heated swimming pool that you can use and if you want to play croquet or boules just ask and we can provide the equipment.
Wellington is only one hour away by train or car.
There are over 6 hectares of grounds for you to wander around. You might like to picnic by the river! There is also a swimming pool that you are welcome to use in the summer months.

Other things to note
The nights here are magical as there are no street lights or other light pollution. You may need to bring a torch with you if arriving in the dark so you can see the gate keypad! Although we are in the countryside the small town of Waikanae is only 8 minutes drive away. There you will find shops, restaurants and a lovely little cinema. Waikanae was voted the best small town in New Zealand in 2015.
No smoking anywhere on the property and sorry, no pets.

We live in such a magical place and would like to share it with other people who enjoy all things outdoors. We have 180 olive trees and make our own olive oil. We have some beautiful formal gardens and a flourishing veggie patch which keep me pretty busy! My chickens free-range around the property and keep us supplied with fresh eggs. I also paint and write when I can find the time! We have travelled extensively and love to meet people from different backgrounds and cultures.
