Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
The name of house is Ngurra, which means birds nest, and it is an ideal spot for birdwatchers, walkers, artists or those who simply need a tranquil timeout from hectic city life. This romantic period cottage has been recently extensively renovated and set up for guests. Surrounded by bushland and with expansive views, it is the perfect spot for those wanting to experience nature in beautiful surroundings. Popular beauty spots Maleny and Montville are close by and the beach is a 30 minute journey

The space
The cottage on 20 acres and is arranged to be perfect for two couples as it has 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms. When one couple books, we close off the second bedroom and bathroom to reduce cleaning. The couple then has the luxury master with the ensuite with the spa bath. The master and living room have just had air-conditioning installed. The base price is for 2 people sharing one bedroom. There is a surcharge of $30 if two bedrooms are used by 2 guests to reflect the extra cleaning. The fully equipped kitchen boasts a dishwasher and a large s/s stove and fridge. Both bedrooms have four poster beds and the master bathroom contains a free standing spa bath . There are numerous nice touches, such as produce when available from our farmlet, board games, dvds and art materials. A vintage style picnic basket and a small esky are in the cupboards awaiting your excursions . The kitchen larder is stocked with basics such oil, salt , herbs etc. We are just down the hill if you need us, but our house can not be seen from Ngurra or visa versa. The house has a DVD player and smart tv with USB ports and HTML connectivity but the house currently has very limited wifii. If required use your own 4G through your phone or just enjoy a break from the internet. Mobile coverage is varied. Postscript : 1 person has had issues getting a strong mobile signal, bear in mind that in much of rural Australia, only Optus and Telstra provide reliable service. We had a negative feedback about mobile reception but it was during a storm. In the country unlike the city, reception is sourced from a single local mobile tower. This means if our tower is being buffeted, unlike the city with multiple towers in a locality, reception can be affected. High winds can also affect reception.

Guest access
The cottage is fully self contained and quite separate from the main house. There is a small orchard below the house which guests are welcome to pick a small bag of citrus from, when in season.

Other things to note
All water is tank, so we ask guests to be mindful of water usage and to use the natural products provided. The bonus is that is pure soft rainwater for drinking or washing. Please be aware that the property is unsuitable for small children due to farm dams etc. Check-in and checkout are flexible to some extent but please be aware that if another guest is arriving we may ask you to leave prior to 10:00 am in order to clean. Likewise if you are arriving on a day on which another guest is leaving, check-in after 2pm. We are trialing allowing well behaved dogs that are kept on a leash when outside. However please no dogs on furniture, it adds hours to cleaning, and would require us to charge more. The big deck has a gate which would provide a safe hangout space for most dogs.

Guests can choose to have as little interaction as they wish, however if they have an interest in organic gardening and permaculture we are happy to show them the farmlet. Dinner can be arranged at an extra cost by prior arrangement.
