Had a lovely stay in Lexy’s place, it’s in such a beautiful and secluded location. Really close to Ballydehob and Schull and with plenty of space for a group. Lexy was really easy to communicate with and I’d recommend the house to anyone 😊

We enjoyed an excellent night at Lexy's place. Nick, the co-host, gave us brilliant tips about where to eat, drink and listen to music. The cottage was comfortable, quiet, handily located and had lots of charm. Recommended by all in our group.

"Big Marsh" ist ein sehr ruhig gelegenes älteres Cottage mit einem schönen großen Garten: ein echtes Paradies für unsere Hunde! Die nächsten Pubs und Restaurants (montags geschlossen!) findet man in Ballydehob, 7 km entfernt. Das Cottage war für uns ein perfekter Ausgangspunkt fü…

Hi Katja, thank you for your well thought out review of Big Marsh. You were one of our first guests, and therefore we appreciate being told where we can improve Big Marsh in order to make it more of an enjoyable stay. So let’s begin with your suggestions; certainly a toilet brush would be useful, so of course we will try to have one in the bathroom for our next visitors. As for the one toilet roll, it must have been an oversight, and for that we’re truly sorry. Our cottage is old; over a hundred years old with its own well, I know, I mentioned in the spec’ of our cottage that we are on well water, and to use water sensibly, perhaps I need to add that our bathroom is not modern; it has a shower that runs off the bath; the water comes directly from the tank above, but it is not a ‘power shower’. Also, I am so sorry that you found a spider web and dirty glasses. Something I will have to rectify. As for the creaky bed... It is a wooden bed, with a relatively new mattress...and wooden beds do creak. We couldn’t replace it with a new version - it would look out of character with the cottage. As in our description of the house the stairs are steep, but at the top of each set of stairs there is a stair gate to protect you when you have to get up in the night. It is an old cottage with old furniture, and I have always found this to be an escape from the trappings of grandeur in our normal lives. However, we will do our best to rectify the dirty glasses, the spider web, and the loo paper. Thank you for your suggestions, Lexy

I’m busy bringing up 3 wonderful children, and encouraging them to follow their dreams. I’m definitely an outside person; Happiest in West Cork, there I can be found on the beach watching my children surf, or boogie boarding with my youngest in the waves. And every day we walk fr…
