A beautiful newly renovated row house apartment has a feeling of countryside just 20 min away from down town. The house was designed in the 1950's by the famous architect Hilding Ekelund. The housing company (20 houses) is said to be the first row house area in Finland. The surrounding nature is full of old trees, bushes and flowers. The flat easily fits 8 and is located on a quiet street next to Central Park close to good grocer's, play grounds, bus stops, etc. Perfect for families!
Welcome to stay in our beautiful, newly renovated apartment in Maunula district, Helsinki. You're welcome to use all the basic facilities. WiFi included. If in need of bicycles, that can be arranged, too.
Our apartment has five floors with stairs connecting them (please take a look at the floor plan to get an idea). From the living room, small balcony and kitchen you can see to the beautiful garden and sky (if there are not too many clouds, this is the place to admire the moon). Above the living room there's a loft space with a small reading room and a bed.
One floor lower you'll find two bedrooms and a bathroom with a hot tub. The outer hall and the entrance are located on the first floor as well as one of the bedrooms. From there you have a lovely garden view.
In the basement you'll find a toilet, sauna and a shower room as well as a laundry room with a washing machine and lots of space to dry your washings. Also in the basement there's a quiet and peaceful guest room which easily turns into an yoga and meditation space. All rooms have beautiful, newly renovated wooden floors.
The architect is also known for designing the Helsinki Taidehalli Gallery, Olympic Velodrome, Olympic Village and Helsinki street kiosks, to give a few examples.
The apartment we rent is our home. Because of that we sincerely ask our guests not to smoke inside or bring pets. Also we ask you to respect our neighbors by keeping it quiet after 22 pm.
I'm a 30+ writer from Helsinki, Finland. Me and my husband rent our house in Helsinki usually on holidays or when staying abroad a little longer.
I have a huge respect for kind and considerate people. I always try to be one myself, too. We love renting our house and seeing, time after time, how thoughtful and nice people can be towards our home. It's amazing to connect with people around the world and have guests from different corners of the planet. The best feeling is, when you don't want to leave home but instead stay with your lovely guests and have an amazing holiday together! (But don't worry, we do always leave...)
When staying at someone else's house we try to be respectful, good and reliable guests. Berlin is our favorite city in the world, but we travel a lot in other countries, too.
