FANTASTIC LOCATION ! (City centre area code 101)
Elegant studio apartment in embassy district, heart of the city. Private entrance. Great bathroom. Comfortable beds. Big Terrace. Stone's throw away from all the restaurants, shops, art.

The space

This elegant, cosy studio apartment is attached to a private villa in the embassy district, 101 Reykjavík (101 is the zip code for the city centre), 2 minute walk to the heart of the city, great restaurants and vibrant nightlife. Yet on a quiet street. One of the nicest districts in Reykjavík. Free parking on street. Very quiet and peaceful at night as bed area is near quiet backyard. The only sound you will hear at dawn are the birds singing.

Immaculately clean with everything brand new; a kitchen (with all utensils + microwave) where there are comfortable bar stools with a foot rest, beautiful bathroom with a great shower, big mirror and heating under the floor tiles. Washing machine in the bathroom. Double glass door opening into a terrace; big windows. Two amazingly comfortable beds (that can be moved together or kept apart).

Included in the price is Wi-Fi connection, bedding and towels.

Only 2 minutes from the heart of Reykjavík city centre, the location of this apartment is as central as possible with interesting attractions and places of historic significance right in the neighbourhood.

The Official Tourist Bureau in Reykjavík is 2 minutes away on Adalstraeti 2 (Old Main Street). Many tours are able to pick guests up from the house and others from Centrum Reykjavik Hotel which is two blocks away, on the same street as the Official Tourist Bureau.

Anything you care to do in Reykjavík is about 2-5 minutes away: The harbour with its fancy bars and selection of whale watching trips, the amazing Harpa concert hall; the vibrant artistic scene, prestigious museums and art galleries in the neighbourhood, the Reykjavík Pond and City Hall; the lively centre with restaurants, cafés and bars and Laugavegur the main street for shopping.

An open door thermal swimming pool is within 7 minutes walking distance, open until 21 pm where you can enjoy a good swim and/or relax in hot pots and the wonderful sauna. A gourmet food shop is close by and the National Museum, National Library and University of Iceland are about 5 minutes away. It takes about 10-15 minutes to the promenade by the seaside leading to the geothermal beach at Nauthólsvík where you can go sea swimming.

This superb studio is located opposite a lovely park (Landakotstún) where the Catholic Cathedral is and with a view to the northern lights at night and the mountain Esja, where thousands of hikers promenade to the top every year. Despite being just 2 minutes away from the heart of the city with the famous night life, this street is peaceful at night. There is free parking space outside.

Fantastic location, only five minutes away from the main hustle and bustle of the city. Couldn't fault the area, quiet, safe and peaceful. Very comfortable beds. Great central heating system, the apartment stayed warm and toasty even when outside was freezing! Check in was smooth and Maja & Gunnar's helper was very entertaining! Thank you for letting us stay at your apartment.

It was a really nice experience to stay at Maja and Gunnar's apartment. They sent us detailed tips before we arrived in Reykjavik. The place was easy to find. We took the bus from Blue Lagoon, and got off at Metropolitan Hotel (just five minutes walk to the apartment). The place had everything we need, and it was quite warm. Maja and Gunnar were easy to communicate, and allowed us to stay a little bit longer on the last day. The old harbour and city centre are within walking distance. We enjoyed staying at Maja and Gunnar's apartment.

Cozy and compact, the location is fantastic and there's always someone on hand if you've any questions. My partner and I had only three short nights in Iceland and we used Maya and Gunnars place as a base to explore the golden circle and the south of the island. We were rarely at home as there's so much to see/do, so the accommodation suited us fine for this. I think we were in the smaller of the two apartments, there were twin beds instead of doubles so we just pushed together. Immaculately clean. Thank you again. :)
