Neighbourhood highlights
Melness is a small crofting village in the very north coast of Scotland, just off the popular NC500 route. It is a fantastic base to explore the surrounding area, either East or West. There are two fabulous mountains nearby for keen hillwalkers - Ben Loyal which is a Corbet know as The Queen of Scottish Mountains and Ben Hope which is a Munro. There are also lots of local coastal walks taking in the stunning scenery.
There are several lovely beaches, all within walking distance although swimming is only for the brave!!
There is a hotel/ restaurant close by and there is also a well stocked shop/post office less than a mile away for your everyday essentials/ picnic or bbq supplies. This is also where you will find out if there are any local Ceilidhs or events taking place during your stay.
For the keen fishermen/ladies there are a huge range of local Lochs to try your hand in, permits can be organised by ourselves prior to your arrival.
A few miles further you will find the village of Tongue, with two hotels/bars serving excellent food and two more shops one with fuel.
