The siding, flooring and the support structure of the building is formed from wood.
The building consists of five different houses with different size and themes based on daily needs. These houses are designed with the themes like sailing, music, photography, whirling dervishes and motorcycle.
Each house has its own kitchen, restroom and bathroom, by no means sharing with others. There are TV, international satellite receiver, fridge, washing machine, iron, hair-dryer and some useful tools for the kitchen.
Let us entertain you as our guests with the very well-known Turkish hospitality. Come and become a part of these rooms with such concepts. 24-hour WiFi, hot water and central heating are all available here. You will feel as much comfortable as you are in your own houses. Come, stay and make yourself at home.
The houses are located at Beyoğlu which is one of the most central parts of İstanbul. We stayed here as a family of 5 (two adults with 3 young children aged 5, 3 and 1) for 2 weeks over Christmas/New Year. Everything other reviews said were right - The host Can was absolutely responsive and took great care of us including airport transfer, the apartment is well located and great value for money, etc. Here are a few drawbacks we found, only relevant to people in the same situation as ours and it is nothing that diminishes its attractiveness. I am only adding the points other people didn't mention. 1. Although the apartment itself is an old wooden building, it is renovated to modern comfort and has central heating throughout and A/C in the living area. It was fine until the temperature dropped to sub zero and we had heavy snow on the New Years Eve. The master bedroom was absolutely freezing and we had to put thick jumpers and socks on to sleep. Again, it is only relevant if the temperature drops to freezing point. 2. Since we had three young children and stayed for 2 weeks, we inevitably had to cook quite a bit. The kitchen is not designed for proper cooking. The counter top is so tiny and the cooker is right next to the sofa. It doesn't have a microwave or a toaster although Can provided a panini toaster when we asked for a toaster. It is fine if you just have breakfast cereal and tea/coffee in the morning (they have an electric kettle) but if you need more than that, you would struggle. Having said that, I had a hard time finding a place with a family size kitchen in such central area and you would probably need to go further out to find such place. Overall, we had a great time in Istanbul for 2 weeks including totally unexpected thick snow and this apartment was a perfect base for us.

We spent 3 nights at Can's place: the check-in was a smooth process as its office was side by side with the flat. We were warmly welcomed with Chaï tea as Can introduced us to the city to facilitate our way around, and very positive point, gave us a transport badge that we could top up to get very good fares. The flat was conveniently located, matched the pictures on the site, and a few grocery shops besides. You can use the fridge and the kitchen. Can was very reactive as we asked to put the heater on almost every night, he sent his worker to help us with it. The only downside of the flat is that it is not "noiseproof" as we could hear distinctly the neighbours upstairs speaking and walking, so it took us a bit longer to fall asleep than expected, but if you are using earplugs you will remove this issue easily. We recommend this place to other guests.

We were a group of 5 persons and Can's apartment was the perfect base for our trip to Istanbul. It is well located and close to all the touristic attractions on the European side. The walls of the apartment are quite thin, therefore you could hear the neighbours making noises. But since the apartment is not located on a main street, we could sleep well at night. There are several small supermarkets nearby and the closest metro station is only a short walk away. We never met Can, but we enjoyed our stay! Thanks

Our stay in Istanbul was at the lovely Galatapera Green 5 apartment, designed in a thoughtful, yet playful, nautical theme. The apartment is two bedrooms, one bath, living and dining area (stocked with complimentary coffee, tea, as well as a selection of stacks).. The apartment was comfy and pleasant, with all the features one expects: hot water, AC, wifi and several furniture pieces to stretch out and relax on. The apartment easily accommodated three of us for our visit. Centrally located, the apartment is minutes away from . There are also two grocery stores conveniently located 1 minute away, just around the corner. A pleasant surprise was the La Pera Café, a short 2 minute walk from the apartment. La Pera Café was a cozy spot for a tasty nibble before starting off the day of enjoying Istanbul and all it has to offer. Can Dolunay, our friendly and knowledgeable host, was a great help. He not only provided us with a map, but served us tea and sat with us for over half an hour providing suggestions for locations to visit as well as some historical insight and cultural background on the city. His office is a short 3 minute walk from the apartment and Can encouraged us to call him with any questions, day or night. Our visit in Istanbul was made all the better by our stay at this gem of an apartment!

This was a great location for two adult women and three teenagers. Plenty of space for all of us, and set up so we could get our own breakfast before heading out for the day. We felt safe even in the evenings. Can was great, very responsive, and gave us use of his Istanbulkart to load for cheap public transit. There were small snacks and water for us when we arrived, and the host spent a few minutes with the map orienting us to where we wanted to go. The only negatives were really just a function of being in Istanbul, which was that it could get loud late at night. Also because we were in the bottom apartment, we heard our neighbors above. This was a cute neighborhood with small markets within one or two blocks where we could get cheese bread and wine for our stay. It was uphill to Istiklal St. so if you are not in modest shape this could be problematic. This was not an issue for us but something to be aware of.
