This is the foot of a rain forest so there are lots of small animals like birds, ants and small lizards around the area . The inside of the home is always clean and we fumigate bi-weekly but if you are afraid of animals maybe this is not the place for you.

We have 2 very sweet dogs in the property.

I very much enjoyed staying @ the Yuké Temple! The location was perfect as it was so close to the beaches and El Yunque National Rainforest. The apartment was just what I needed for my week stay. Piero, being very helpful and resourceful, has a good selection of books and travel brochures, which I was very happy about since I had forgotten my piece of literature. He, as a host, was very pleasant and polite. I would definitely recommend staying here!

The property is beautiful, the apartment was fine for what we needed. If your squeamish about bugs, you may have a problem. Overall it's a great place for the money!

Response from Piero:
Sorry about that, we always clean and fumigate after a guest leaves and clean again before someone comes in. I was not in PR and the person left in charge forgot to clean after fumigating. Still, Chaundra wrote about a dead bug as soon as she arrived and I immediately sent someone to clean the apartment.

Piero made us feel very welcome. He helped us in many ways, like lending us a large pot, giving us an extra blanket, and talking to us about things we were interested in. The rooms are simple and well organized. The large closet space makes staying there very functional. Parking is easy and secure. There are two dogs there that are about the sweetest and friendliest animals on the planet. I think it's fine if you aren't into dogs, they will not bother you in the least!

Piero was a great host and very accommodating. The location is great, a few minutes from the rainforest and a quick drive to the beach. The coqui frogs sound amazing in the evening, I wish my friends would have let us sleep with the windows open. You are at the edge of a forest so be prepared for some humidity and rain. It's a good place to sleep and shower between your adventures, hanging out and talking can be loud though the walls. I wish Piero luck with his permaculture project, it was refreshing to meet someone who is trying to help the environment in a place where most people didn't seem concerned.

We had a enjoyable stay at Piero's ficus temple. The apartment was clean , well maintained and organised. We also appreciated the welcoming attitude and all the recommendations of our host that were all but judicious. The kitchen space being a bit tight, and I would not recommend extensive cooking in this apartment. Otherwise, this was perfect for 2 persons. The hamac under the shade was the perfect place for afternoon reading...

This review is for the Yuke Temple. I had a great week at this property. The apartment was clean and exactly as described. Piero is a very accommodating host and a super nice guy as well. It's a little off the beaten path, but a great location out in the country if you want to get away from the city and experience real Puerto Rico. It's close enough to the beach that you can ride a bike there (if you're careful), but you'll probably need a car to go to the rainforest. Piero is very environmentally conscientious and the property reflects that, so if you're the kind of person who likes simple living and doesn't mind recycling your trash and composting your food waste then this place is perfect for you.

All my apartments are within a .5 acre Permaculture project in development called "Ficus Temple" I live in a "Tiny House" type residence within the same lot.

I'm a Solar PV Installer/Electrician and I'm trying to integrate this with Permaculture to offer holistic services to my clients. Sometimes I do freelance Graphic and Web Design.

Things I love:

* Traveling to new places, (never using hotels).
* Festivals- I live for festivals, I have been to Mutek and Coachella, EDC, and Lightning in a Bottle, and I'm hoping to go to Boom Festival next.
* Indie and electronic music, foreign movies
* Espresso coffee
* Growing my own food (a very effective act of political dissent)
* Making my own raw chocolate bars, cakes, bread and coconut milk.
* Tiny House Living (why have more than you need)

As you see, I'm like an old ex-raver grandmother with a Captain Planet complex.
