This 18th Century Barn grade II listed Barn is a special space. It was in the past part of Green Farm, King Sterndale. A modest working farm providing milk and lamb to the local markets. The Barn was in 1990 transformed from a cow byre into a house and two holiday lets. It remained this way until 2010 when we bought it and began its transformation into our home and B&B. The double room is a perfect place for couples to get away to the countryside for a weekend. Breakfast is included.

The space
Set in the confines of the Peak District National Park, we have converted the barn into the 5 bedroom property it is now.

It is remote and peaceful with no through road and no noise.

All the works have been completed sympathetically with the original building and to the specifications of the Peak District national park.

The hamlet is quiet and peaceful. Served only by the one road into the hamlet it offers peace and tranquillity and space from the hectic world of work.

Guest access
Guests will have access to their own rooms and to the dining space for breakfast.

During your stay
We live above the B&B and are always available if needed.

Other things to note
We offer a hearty home cooked breakfast using locally sourced foods: eggs, bacon, sausages and freshly ground coffee roasted in Buxton. We also provide a lighter breakfast, if you prefer, with a choice of fruit, yogurt, crumpets and teacakes.

With a little notice, we are able to provide packed lunches should you require them for your days out. Let us know your requirements on arrival and we will be able to fulfil your needs.

I work part time in the largest remaindered bookstore in the country, which is just 3 miles from home. It fits perfectly with my love of books and meeting new people. Pete and I both enjoy the outdoors and are keen runners and cyclists. We also enjoy walking and have completed several long distance paths as well as many of the Dark and White peak footpaths. We enjoy music concerts and the theatre. We are of course very lucky to be 3 miles away from the famous Buxton Opera House which offers a wealth of every genre of theatre. Family and friends are very important to us; we regularly look after our grandchildren and entertain friends. We have a friendly, easy style of hosting. Our am is to make all of our guests as comfortable as possible and meet all need where we can whilst they share our home.
