It was exactly what we was looking for, a place to rest and chill with your friends. Near from the beach and restaurants. Very clean and the owners were very kind!

The location of Casa Petate was great - close to the beach and centre of town, but just slightly out of it. We were a group of 3 adults and 2 children. We really liked the house - nice layout and details, hot showers. There was some dust and noise from the road, but it did not bother us much. We would stay there again.

Definitely Casa Petate is not a place to rest or enjoy. It's a noisy place full of dust produced by all the outside cars circulation during the 24 hours, and the owners won't tell you before they accept the reservation and you pay.

Response from Steven & Lauren:
Hello All, We take hosting very very seriously.....Casa Petate is our family's vacation home and it is with pleasure that we share it with guests. Unfortunately the main road into town is closed and all traffic is currently being routed down our tiny tiny (usually quiet) street. At the time Lua stayed with were not aware of this situation and Lua did not contact us before leaving this review. In the time since then we are working with our housekeeper, neighbors and contacts to come up with the best possible plan to mitigate the damage done by this unforseen circumstance. Our housekeeper is cleaning daily and we are wetting the street every morning in an effort to fight the dust. Please contact us if you have any questions. We take great pride in our hosting and are very sorry to hear about the condition of Lua's stay. We love Sayulita and hope you will return to see what a wonderful time can be had.

Lauren and Steven have a great home that was great for our two couples. It's one short block from the start of town, and just far enough to avoid most of the loud nightlife music. Patio offered a nice central courtyard space to have a drink in the evenings. The road into town is being redone, which means that more traffic has been diverted in front of the house. This adds to the dust in the kitchen and the courtyard and some of the noise. But overall a great place and I would easily recommend it.

We were here with our 2 older children for 4 nights after staying at an all inclusive in PV. We loved the town and the whole laid back vibe of the place. Due to some major road construction the dirt road in front of this home is very busy and extra dusty right now. The noise level is also higher than usual because of this. We didn't mind though. The locals that live across the street and over see your visit are very nice and as promised there were cold beers and Guacamole waiting for us in the fridge. The rooms were more spacious then we thought and can easily sleep 4 kids in the one part and then 2 adults in the other room. The outdoor kitchen area is well stocked, no microwave though. The home is 1/2 block to the main street and when you make a right over the bridge you are in the quiet north side. 2 1/2 blocks straight you are at the beach. Plenty of places to rent chairs, surf and paddle boards. The food is great, simple and inexpensive. We loved our time in this special place and can't wait to come back.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Steven and Lauren's house. The house was so beautifully decorated and stocked with everything we needed. We loved the outdoor living area and the location. About a block outside of town and less than a 5 minute walk from the beach. Though it was loud like the other reviews note, it was a much more joyful noise than we're used to in the city, (a lot of music, roosters, and laughter mixed in with the car noise) it didn't bother us much. Velvina, the caretaker, was incredibly friendly and helpful. She stopped by to see if we needed anything and brought more water halfway into our stay. Her guacamole and pico de gallo were delicious too. The only real drawback was the dirt. The whole place was cleaned very well when we arrived but the dirt from the road finds its way onto and into everything. We would definitely stay there again when traveling with 4+ people.
