This glamping site offers accommodation and breakfast in gypsy wagon and a vintage caravan ( see Chez Shea vintage glamping- also listed with Airbnb) Both have been carefully restored, featuring very different interiors. Come and check us out!

The space

The wagon sleeps two people in a comfortable double bed. It has a kettle for making tea/ coffee but does not have cooking facilities. Bed linen and towels are supplied.
A vegetarian breakfast is included in the price and served in the wagon- or outside if weather permits!

Guest access

The wagon contains a selection of books, games and puzzles for guests to enjoy. Bathroom facilities are situated in a purpose made building a short walk away from the wagon. Facilities consist of one shower, sink and two toilets. On this glamping site, this facility is shared between a maximum of four guests at any one time. There are some nice places to eat out in our locality.

Interaction with guests

Whilst we respect our guests privacy, we are always on hand if needed, and enjoy discussing our area and local history. As we live on a farm, we hope that guests may enjoy meeting some of our animals- cats, dogs, chickens, ponies and donkeys.

Ben and I absolutely loved every bit of our stay in the Gypsy Wagon. Marie and Ger made our experience that much sweeter with their warmth and hospitality... and the breakfasts that they whipped up were better than a restaurant! The Wagon itself was beautifully and thoughtfully designed with personal touches that made it feel like home. We would wake up to the delicious breakfast in the morning and open up the front windows to take in the beautiful scenery and sounds of sheep, cows, and birds. Then in the evening after coming back from a pub dinner we'd build a fire and sip wine under the stars. If you're exploring the Wild Atlantic Way and the Ring of Kerry and don't mind a bit of driving, this is a wonderful place to stay that provides peace and relaxation after a day of exploring. We missed the Wagon as soon as we left, and we'll be forever treasuring the memories we made this weekend. Thank you Marie and Ger for everything!

If you are looking for a 5 star 'room with a view' in a peaceful picturesque area... then look no further. Marie's place is certainly a magical place & has to be experienced to get the true feeling & ambience. We arrived in glorious sunshine & within a short time the tea & scones arrived ️. Marie's place is full of character and is decorated with some really tasteful pieces, from the pictures on the walls, the selection of books available, some cushions & a mixture of old & new lighting. The attention to detail is great, (especially the wind up torch, which was useful for night time visits to the washroom.) You will not be disappointed if you choose this gypsy caravan for your holiday!! Even the rain on our last day could not dampen our spirits. You will also get to meet her most sociable & friendly dog, Wicket. She became a regular visitor when we were 'home'

If you love beautiful hidden valleys, mountain views, quirky accommodation and being thoroughly spoilt - then you will love staying at Marie and Ger's Gypsy wagon. It is in the most wonderful setting and decorated so lovingly it was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. They are the perfect hosts too - nothing too much trouble and wonderful breakfast to boot! An inspiration and highly recommended. Thank you for a wonderful stay - we'll be back xx

Even now thinking about the gypsy wagon I smile. No, I wasn't dreaming that did happen...Or Apple has invaded privacy to dream level! It's pink and sweet nested in beside an apple tree surrounded by flowers (pink!) You want to eat a sweet (or Marie's marvellous breakfast) and just stare at it in its quaint glory sipping tea. Inside is the saucy gypsy charm (enter Cher's dark lady song) as its 40's elegant features pair with an eccentric blend of textures and patterns to delight the eye and create the perfect mood. Sitting on the bed (enter interchangeable cat/dog), a glass of wine and open doors allowing in the shadowed trees against the bright light of the moon and pure magic! Morning comes and Marie greets you through the darling windows to a fresh breakfast made with love! Just Darling! Now that is a versatile space! The restrooms are shared amongst the two sites with a terrific hot shower and toilet per guest it puts the glamour in camping. Decoupaged walls, teal glitter flooring and in a refurbished boxcar. No detail is over looked with this space! It's a makers haven and small living in its finest! Marie and her family have got hosting down to an art! Words cannot even express their good hearted nature. I was spoiled w tips for the day, lovely chats, and genuine kindness. The energy here even without the country air and views is so positive you're instantly relaxed. The breakfast though...oh god. I am a brunchoholic and nothing compares to Marie in the kitchen! Pancakes w real maple syrup! That's the fastest route to this Canadians heart. Lastly, and the real cherry on this cupcake at no time was I without a furry companion. The sweetest dogs and a cheeky cat were in a constant rotation of my shadow. Not to mention it is on a pony farm...yup PONIES! Thanks for a magical stay!

A fantastic experience - well worth the effort of trying to find the location! The caravan is beautifully decorated and warm and snug. It was wonderful to open the hatch in the morning and look out across to the mountains beyond. The bathroom facilities (in a separate block) looked unprepossessing but were perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean. Ger, our host, was extremely welcoming, as were the dogs. The hospitality on arrival and at breakfast were superb, with the enjoyment being heightened by the opportunity to eat at the table outside.

My partner Ger and I live with our three children on the Beara Peninsula in Co.Kerry. We live on a small farm which has been in my family for four generations (at least!)The family trade was shoe making, and locally some of the older people still remember this place as the shoema…
