The apartment, while open concept, has living, dining, and sleeping designations with a full bath. The king sized bed with mattress topper is sure to be comfy and cozy. There is a queen sized pull out sofa sleeper, with bedding provided, able to accommodate two adults comfortably. A pack n play is provided as well for your little one. There is a window air conditioner for summer heat relief.
We have included the basic creature comforts: bath towels, soap, shampoo and other toiletries in case you forget, in the bathroom. You will find salt, pepper, other seasonings, oil, flour and sugar in the cupboard. There is a keurig with an assortment of pods and snacks set out to make you feel right at home. They are complimentary, so please enjoy! The kitchen is also stocked with pots, pans, a coffee maker, crock pot, cooking utensils, etc.- all you would need to stay in and prepare your own meals.
Xumo TV is included with live TV, tons of movies and streaming for your favorite apps. If you've forgotten a book to read the shelves hold a few interesting titles. There are games located in the end table along the couch in the living room and on the shelves in the bedroom.
For those guests with small children, I have a high chair, pack n play with bedding, some toys and books.
TO EASE YOUR MIND. All linens are laundered between guests- the duvets and pillow shams are washed so please use the comforter and pillows!

Guest access
Your stay includes access to the parking pad, the sidewalk to the apartment and the front lawn. There is outdoor patio furniture for your use as well as a charcoal grill, table, and fire pit on the parking pad for cooking out and recreating. Most local gas stations sell firewood. The grilling utensils are in the kitchen closet. Please do not use the garage for access to the apartment. There is a door leading to the garage from inside the space that we ask you not to use except in an emergency. You do, however, have access to the attached garage for use of the bikes and beach chairs only. Feel free to collect them from there and return when finished using.

Other things to note
The house above is a permanent residence for my aunt Beverly. You may see her around doing yard work or other tasks on the property.

Neighbourhood highlights

The neighborhood itself is quiet. Our neighbors are friendly and respectful. The road along the house doesn't get much traffic but we will have an occasional bike or footrace routed that way.

You are but a short distance from Sturgeon Bay's historic downtown and easy access to the county's main highway which can take you up the peninsula to many quaint villages and area attractions.

If you enjoy hiking, Crossroads at Big Creek, a nature preserve and historic village, and the Door County Land Trust, are both within walking distance.

If beaches are what you are after, the somewhat lesser known Portage Park beach on Lake Michigan is a short drive along the canal connecting Lake Michigan to Sturgeon Bay. The Sturgeon Bay coast guard station is located near there and while most of the grounds are not open to the public, the north break wall is.

If you visit us in winter we are just off the snowmobile trails and those said hiking trails are great for cross country skiing. Crossroads at Big Creek grooms the trails and even provides skis for visitors free of charge.

We provide bikes for your use along with beach items to make it easier for you to enjoy the surrounding area. The bikes and beach chairs are located in the attached garage. A beach bag with towels is located in the kitchen closet.

Sturgeon Bay, itself, boasts many fine dining and shopping experiences. Galleries and museums offer entertainment and interest. Public beaches and parks are plentiful. The city prides itself on the many planned events for guests who visit and locals who reside here. Take time to visit the Door County Visitor Bureau center or website to discover all this county has to offer!

To access walking trails: If you walk down the hill along Vermont Place and take the curve onto 20th you will see walking trails throughout the field on the left that follows Big Creek. That is part of a system of trails through Crossroads. If you walk up the Vermont Place hill and turn right onto Cove Rd and immediately jog left you will see a trail heading into the wooded property on the right side of the road. That is a part of public land called Door County Land Trust and has a system of trails through there. I would encourage you to find other Land Trust trails throughout the county.

Directions to Portage Park: Drive up the Vermont Hill. Turn right onto Cove Rd. and then jog left right away onto Canal Rd. Follow Canal Rd. until you reach the Coast Guard station. Turn left onto TT. The entrance to the park is about a mile or so down TT to the right, and the entrance is a bit disguised so you need to be looking closely for it.

Where I went to school: North Central University
My work: Mother, wife, host
Stay-at-home mother of six. I am very busy caring for my family, but when I have some free time I enjoy being active with things like yard work and volleyball, reading, studying the Bible and listening to sermons/talk radio. I love God and family. I am a homebody, but do enjoy the company and conversation of my sisters or a close friend. As an Airbnb host I pride myself on attention to detail, cleanliness and responsiveness. I will try my very best to meet your expectations during your stay. I wish I traveled more, but when I do, I appreciate those same things! I've only had 2 Airbnb experiences, but they were wonderful!
