It is a beautiful place and David is very friendly and helpful. We were very lucky to have great weather even though it was the end of October. Thank you, David.

Our second stay at David's place and just as enjoyable as the first. Beautiful swaths of late Spring flowers between olive groves and streams. Friendly dogs, horses, ducks and ducklings wandering about the place. And a beautifully situated pool for warm evening swims. Highly recommended.

David is a great host! On my first night, arriving on a Sunday evening when the shops had closed, he kindly gave me some fresh and delicious organic vegetables and egss from his garden. He was also kind enough to let me use the fireplace using his own personal supply of logs. This is typical of his general attitude which is relaxed, friendly and as helpful as possible. On the other hand he was also respectful of my desire for privacy, peace and quiet and let me do my own thing undisturbed. This cannot be said of the animals! They like to say hello and very rarely leave you undisturbed, especially if food scraps are available! The animals are very friendly and quite easy to get rid of if this is not your thing, however for me they added to the rural experience and definitely part of the charm. I live in the city and especially miss having dogs around...The cheeky pigs and geese are fun too. The accomodation was rural, with stylish country decor, but a smart bathroom, comfortable bed and decent cooking facilities. The views and sunsets are magnificent and the pool area is also stylish. The sound of birds and wildlife adds to the peaceful setting and I was very sorry not to be able to explore the numerous trails and running tracks due to a recovering broken leg. In terms of local facilities, I did not visit the nearby village of El Pedroso much except to buy groceries so cannot comment much. However there appeared to be a couple of bars and restaurants to try although I did not go. The two grocery shops do not sell the best produce Spain has to offer but they had enough essentials for a decent barbecue, e.g. good meats and fresh vegetables etc. I am sure it would be possible to find better or buy direct from farmers with more time to look but my stay was short. Likewise, wine choice is limited but you can get hold of the basics in terms of decent rioja, manzanilla etc. No doubt there are some bodegas available if you look harder. In conclusion this is a rural paradise with a fantastic host. Thanks David!

Arriving at the country house is like arriving in paradise. In April the olive groves and fields which visitors are free to explore are a mass of wild flowers and stunningly beautiful. It is a totally relaxing environment with the only noise coming from the abundant wild life. We heard cuckcoos, woodpeckers and saw nesting storks as well as the farms plentiful animals who are free range and friendly. David is a great host - friendly, helpful and available if we needed him. The house was clean, cosy and equipped for basic cooking. There are lots of beautiful walks to do in the local area and the beautiful cities of Seville and Corduba a bit further afield. We had the countryside to ourselves and met very few English people so speaking a bit more Spanish than we do could be helpful. We can't recommend the house highly enough.

We spent nearly 10 days in the casa. David is a great host, he brought us lots of vegetables from his garden and eggs from his hens. He was available via text during our stay and would always stop to say hello and enquire about our well being. He is a genuinely nice and caring person. The casa itself was beautifully furnished, and with much taste. There were 2 fans, and these were enough for us (1st 2 weeks of September), except on the hottest day of the year (48 degrees C!). The property is beautiful, and enormous. 2 swimming pools (one is more like a basin), both very nice, a river pool, numerous benches, chairs, deck chairs and swings are scatterred all over the place, and there's even a path that goes around the "finca" and allows you to experience it in all its glory. There were lots and lots of animals (peacocks, hens, roosters & chickens, ducks, a guinea fowl, guinea pigs, a pig, 3 dogs, 2 horses, a donkey, sheep, cats, rabbits, a pheasant....), some roaming free. We loved seeing them (and feeding them) every day. We didn't mind all of the night noises, but if you need complete silence to sleep, forget about the casa, or bring ear plugs. The wi-fi worked fine, although outside only. As for the downside: the casa is one of *5* rentals (the casa being the smallest). At the height of the season, this means sharing the whole experience with as many as 20 other people. The quiet of the place is therefore dependent on who your neighbours are, as the casa is facing the lawn and is sandwiched between 2 other rentals. Unfortunately, we weren't lucky in the neighbour department. As a result, we frequently had to escape to one of the many quieter corners of the finca, but we would have liked to be able to enjoy quiet meals out on the patio every once in a while. It sometimes felt like we were on a campsite, or back at home, in our flat, when everybody is out on their balcony. If you take care to avoid school holidays and week ends, you may be ok. Your tolerance levels may also be different from ours.

David is a very kind and pleasant person, that gave us a warm welcome. The cottage we stayed in was absolutly fabulous. It has much character and style and has a very pleasant atmosphere. Waking up here was wonderful. The many birds that sang us a song, the peacocks flying on the rooftop, and the piggy greeted us enthusiastically (desperate for some left overs) made us feel at peace. At the heat of the day, you can take a refreshing plonge in the beautiful pool that is surrounded with pretty plants. Unfortunately, there was no wifi available in the cottage. It helped us to enjoy the moment even more though.
