The Bunkhouse is a unique & stylish family stay, located on Bruton High Street a very short stroll from local restaurants & galleries!

It sleeps 5 (or 6 if using the travel cot).

Adults love galleries & restaurants on the door step! while Kids love this place for the bunks & giant Lego.

Croissants & coffee At The Chapel 2 mins walk. Hauser & Wirth a 10 min walk.

Day trips to: Longleat, Stourhead, Glastonbury, Stonehenge, Bristol & Bath

The space
The Bunkhouse occupies a private 2-floored space at the front of a former chapel on Bruton High Street. It is a simple, stylish family space, with one room downstairs featuring the kitchen, diner and lounge, and one room upstairs, featuring a triple and a double bunk... plus a bathroom (with a bath but fyi no shower). A spiral staircase links the two spaces together. There is plenty of light thanks to large windows including a stained glass window, all of which get the evening sunshine. This really is a lovely bolthole of a space on Bruton High Street.

Guest access
The Bunkhouse is a private 2-floored space for you and your family. From the High Street, enter over the front deck and through the blue church doors which is your private front door entrance. Behind the Bunkhouse in the rest of the chapel is my family home, which is completely separate, but we do share the front gate from the street, so you may bump into host Molly, & her family

Neighbourhood highlights

The Bunkhouse sits on the High Street in Bruton Somerset... a town much talked about for being a stylish hotspot in Somerset. The buzz isn't just about the independent shops, galleries and restaurants though... this is a place were you'll meet friendly people, enjoy a nice vibe and meandering pace of life!

Stay at the Bunkhouse and you can keep it breezily local on foot, by popping out the front door and up to Bruton's independent shops such as Swan Vintage, Rose and Lyons, The Cellarhand and Godminster Cheese; you can browse art at galleries Bo Lee Workman and Make; enjoy tasty food at restaurants At the Chapel, The Old Pharmacy and Osip... and live like a local by visiting the Flower Shop, on Friday mornings, the Fish Van!

Hauser and Wirth Gallery, Roth restaurant and Farm Shop is a 15 minute stroll from the Bunkhouse through beautiful allotments...

There are plenty of walks from the front door of the Bunkhouse, with no need to get in a car. Stride up to the woods, or walk over Creech Hill, or simply pop five minutes away to Jubilee park and playground, and climb up Bruton's distinctive Dovecot to get a real view of the town.

Or you can pile everyone in the car, and visit nearby St Alfred's Tower, Stourhead, Shearwater Lake, Babington House, and also the Newt gardens! There are local Lidos at Shepton Mallet and Wells... and river swimming spots which we can recommend. Or hop on the train at Bruton train station and pop to Bath, Bristol or even Weymouth.

So much to do, and so little time...!
