About this listing

Known as "Salvation Cabin" - 5 acres on Blanco River with kayaking, fishing, nature watching, and porch relaxing peace.

This is a restored mid-century log cabin filled with unique artifacts collected by Adena over many years of antiquing.

With abundant Texas wildlife, this is a one-of-a-kind place. Living here 8 years we realized its name -"Salvation Cabin" because we saved it then it saved us.

A throw back to gentler times, you'll leave here touched by nature's healing power.

The space

Private. Centralized to the hill country, including Luckenbach, Fredricksberg, Austin and San Antonio. Owner on property - isolated, but near. Blanco River property. Central A/C. Gas Grill. Wi-Fi available. Bose CD/Radio. True Texas authentic atmosphere and antiques. Sun-dried bed-sheets. Fire-pit and gas-grill available.

Guest access

We have tubes and kayaks to explore, swim and relax on your own private Blanco River paradise while sipping your favorite beverage.

Interaction with guests

Minimal, only as needed - fully private. We call it "salvation cabin" because we saved it and it saved us. Ask us for the story. It's a good one. Plan on relaxing and never wanting to leave.

Other things to note

Outdoor shower. Private but open-air. Tin-roof makes rain and squirrel travel very loud. Lizards are common. Rocky trail to cabin is hazardous at night without a flashlight if drunk - or if not drunk. :)

No toddlers or small children please. Cabin not child-proofed. Porch and windows high above ground.

My family and I had so much fun staying in Adena's adorably decorated and furnished cabin. We received a very warm welcome the first afternoon, and loved all the thoughtful items Adena took the time to provide. The cabin was full of neat things to look at and comfortable spots to relax in. We loved swinging in the porch swing and checking out all the birds from the porch. There were SO many birds to watch! Swimming in the secluded spot on the river was so enjoyable in the afternoons, too. The outdoor shower was also a really nice surprise! I definitely want to stay at the cabin again. I'd love to stay in the cabin during a different season next time. I'm sure it's really nice in the fall, too!

This is my favorite Airbnb I've ever stayed in. The cabin was magical. The food was great. Even thought the river was low we still had a great time swimming and tubing. We can't wait to go back!

Well we cant say enough about how wonderful the cabin and our hosts were. All the previous reviews are spot on. The cabin really is full of antiques that you use like it's no big deal on a day to day bases. If you dont believe me, go in to Wimberly, walk through the antique shops, and you will see many things that are in the cabin. I will say, our hosts were very accommodating, pet friendly, friendly themselves but totally respect your privacy, and Laika (dog) is a super cool dude. Our Woola (dog) hung out with him quite a bit and she's picky about who she hangs with. Lol LOTS of wildlife! We love it, but if you don't care to hear squirrels playing tag on the roof in the morning as you wake up, this isn't for you. We found it amusing. Especially when you do get up and grab a cup of coffee to drink on the porch and look up to see a giant red squirrel, or two, hugging a tree limb like that's what they do all day while looking at you like you're disturbing THEM! LOTS of deer, beautiful birds, hummingbirds, and one very busy armadillo. The tubes and kayaks were great ( ask Mitch and Adena to help you find the right fit, my hubby didn't and found himself looking at the riverbottom. Lol) We found the location to be perfect. We wish we could be their neighbors!!!! All in all it was wonderful. We are planning on booking our next trip within the next couple of hours. Our girls loved it( one teen and one tween), my husband actually read a book and had an acceptable blood pressure several days in a row for the first time in Years. I myself found it magical and a dream come through to have a smile on everyone's face at the same time. I could go on and on and on, but read the other comments. The positivity is all true. And give us a few hours to get our next trip scheduled before you schedule yours!!!!! Lol. Most sincerely, The Bleakleys
