A stunning and unique hideaway in the privacy of a woodland, right on the coastal slope of Priory Bay. It has been described by our guests as "a little piece of paradise".

This special yurt has a mezzanine deck with two mattresses where young children can gaze at the stars from their beds.

The Hideaway along with its sister property Caribbean Corner gives a desert island experience, only 2.5 hours from London and 15 minutes from Portsmouth by RIB.

The space
Beautifully constructed by a local craftsman, this unique Mongolian yurt design, will provide you with an unforgettable experience.

The yurt has a French style double bed with a matching wardrobe to give a cosy and romantic feel. The adjoining bathroom has all the essentials, a roll-top Victorian bath, a flushing toilet, basin, heated towel rail and views to the stars. There is also a private outdoor hot water shower with an uninterrupted view of the beach.

The handcrafted oak kitchen with has a Belfast sink, fridge, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and a twin induction hob.

The French doors open on to the terrace with a gas barbecue, seating area and loungers. The view from here is over the idyllic sandy Priory Bay beach. The yurt is in a private setting surrounded by majestic native woodland.

The main feature is the sheltered gently shelving sandy beach. It is completely protected from the prevailing winds and the morning sun warms the sea on a rising tide. On a spring tide you can take a morning walk all the way to St Helens Fort, getting wet only up to your knees. There is no better experience than coming back to barbecue a couple of locally caught mackerel for breakfast. It is very important that this is only done when the tide times are safe.

If you're lucky enough to come in spring the woods are carpeted with wild garlic, bluebells, daffodils, primroses, wild violets and later in the year wild orchids cover the orchard.

As well as everything you might expect to find in rock pools, you can expect to see red squirrels, peregrines, stoats, buzzards, owls, sparrow hawks, swifts & swallows, bats, woodpeckers and if you're lucky a badger.

Graham Henley provides fresh lobster and crab from the Best Dressed Crab on Embankment Road, Bembridge. And in Bembridge village centre there is a local veg shop, fish shop, butcher and baker. Candle sticks are also available...
