We had a very enjoyable week in Wellfleet! We found the house to be fun and functional. We slept in the bedroom loft with its bank of windows opposite the bed – lovely view to wake up to. [Ladder to the loft is steep with narrow steps]. Wi-Fi, well-stocked kitchen [equipment/utensils], dishwasher, washer/dryer, BBQ grill, extra hangers in the closets, decent counter space in the kitchen, and nice sized bathroom vanity – convenient and conducive to settling in for a week of relaxation. The cleaning service had all the important areas very clean when we arrived – kitchen and bathroom, floors, fridge. It also meant minimal things to take care of as guests: trash, washing used linen, making sure all dishes were clean and put away – when checking out - it was nice not to have to worry about scrubbing the bathroom and other housework during our last afternoon on vacation. We needed to use the air conditioning about half the time – but also thoroughly enjoyed the pleasant cross breeze of having the windows open. We appreciated that the house sits on a quiet lot. Even though there are nearby homes, the design and landscaping allow good privacy. There is easy parking right off the road. Quick walk to town – or drive anywhere local. We found Wellfleet busy, but not overwhelmingly crowded. While there, in addition to checking out the local beaches, we hiked Great Island and walked at the Wellfleet Bay Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary – absolutely beautiful. We took advantage of the many seafood markets. We watched a double feature at the drive-in! All highly recommended. Eric was easy to contact – and seemed authentically interested in making sure that we were comfortable. The only thing we found disappointing was that there are many small things in disrepair in the house – a cracked window pane held together with tape, faulty window hardware, an un-anchored dishwasher that tips back and forth when racks are operated – for a few examples. We were quite surprised that the basics are not maintained in better shape – given what a nice house it is.

Eric was very welcoming, the house is well located to many things in Wellfleet. It is close to downtown and Mayo Beach, and a short drive to hikes, ponds, ocean beaches, etc. The walk to the beach is along roads without sidewalks (hardly any streets in Wellfleet have sidewalks) so, be aware that with kids it can be a little dicey because you are walking in the road and hoping cars will see you. We had our 6-year-old with us so preferred to get a Wellfleet beach sticker for our car which allowed us to drive to ponds for swimming (I think it was $85 for the week). Eric was extremely responsive during the week when little things came up. The rooms are conveniently distanced from one another for privacy. My sister and her husband stayed in the 'studio' across the porch and were very comfortable. The street is not busy, but cars do go by and the house has a 'blind driveway' that they might not see, so I would be careful with kids who are prone to wander. It was not warm enough when we were there in June to use the outdoor shower, but that seemed like a nice amenity.

Eric's house was quaint and perfect for a week on the cape. The outdoor patios are great for dinners. Very close to wellfleet center & harbor.

The cottage is located on a quiet street, and it is a 10-15 minute walk to Mayo Beach and Wellfleet Harbor. There are many great Outer Cape beaches a short drive away. The cottage was sunny and spacious for our group of four, and we really enjoyed the outdoor shower.

I have seen many places in Wellfleet and this was far and away the most authentic Wellfleet experience I could have imagined. Eric was a phenomenal host and we are very grateful for our Cape Cod retreat.

A perfect place to stay on the cape! The house was bright, clean and comfortable, and in a quiet neighborhood. I especially appreciated the complete kitchen with lots of pots and pans (and herbs and spices), a blender and everything we needed to cook up some great meals. My husband loved the outdoor shower. It was a short ride to the best beaches around - and close also to town. We could bike everywhere from there. Eric was a great host. Gave us all the information we needed.

Eric made us feel very welcome. The location is very serene, private, and just a short walk into town, the beach, and nature walks. The cottage(s) manage are full of beach kitch & modern decor. There are many outdoor nooks in this little cottage compound, and they all manage to be private, would be a great space to share with friends. The outdoor shower is boss. AND, Ptown is a very scenic 25 minute jaunt down the road if the nightlife is too tame for you in Wellfleet.
