Neighbourhood highlights

Location – Owermoigne, Dorset
Nestled in the picturesque village of Owermoigne, our home is just 10 minutes from iconic beaches like Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove and 15 minutes from Weymouth and Dorchester. The village features thatched cottages, scenic walks, a cider and clock museum, a farm shop, and a Texaco garage. A short walk away is Dobbies Garden Centre offering a café serving breakfast and lunch. Several local pubs provide great food and drink.

History – Moignes Court
Built in 1267, Moignes Court is Dorset’s oldest inhabited house. It has a rich history, from noble marriages to scandalous crimes. Once owned by the Stourton family, it later passed to Sir Theodore Janssen, a South Sea Company director who lost his fortune in the 1720 crash. Since 1826, the estate has been in the Cree family, with John Cree funding the village school and church restoration in the 19th century.

A Grade I listed medieval manor, Moignes Court boasts original 13th-century windows, a medieval courtroom, a solar wing, and the remains of a historic fishpond, all surrounded by the remains of a moat.
