We divide our time between living a wilderness lifestyle on a vast lake in Alaska in roadless Lake Clark National Park, and Patagonia, Arizona. We are lifelong Alaskans. We fell in love with this area while traveling, hiking and birding here ten years ago. We wanted it to be our winter home now that we have retired from our careers as educators (science and music in Anchorage). We find similarities to Alaska in the scenic grandeur, spaciousness, wildlife, many outdoor opportunities, as well as the warm and delightful people we have found here along with cultural and community opportunities.
This home met our need for a place roomy enough for visiting family and friends, including grandchildren. We love to sit in the Arizona room with glass from ceiling to floor and watch the unique borderland birds come to our feeders, and to watch the harriers from above as they cruise the nearby arroyo. The resident roadrunners are fun to watch. We love that the home is warm, inviting, and welcoming to guests. The views are stunning, the sunsets endlessly entertaining. Every day brings a surprise.
