The space

If you are looking for a central location from which to explore the majestic scenery of the Highlands - come and relax and enjoy the comforts of Monach House. Choose from self-catering in our two roomed annexe or take bed and breakfast in a lovely en-suite room within the main house.

Monach House is a traditional stone cottage, situated in the centre of the Highland village of Bonar Bridge. All the rooms are warm and comfortable and bathrooms have powerful showers with unlimited hot water. Breakfasts for B & B guests are home 'AGA' cooked, using local produce. Evening meals can be provided on request, and a variety of tasty menu options await you.

We are centrally placed to explore the dramatic scenery of whole of the North of Scotland. From here you can readily reach the rugged West coast, the cliff tops of Caithness and the North coast and yet the thriving city of Inverness is still only a 40 minute drive away. This is a beautiful area with award-winning beaches, amazing scenery and many activities - fishing, golfing, walking and mountain biking to name but a few!

Lovely house full of character on different levels in a nice scenic highland village. Restaurant and shop nearby with great day trips all around.

We had a great 6 night stay at Monarch Cottage. The cottage is in an ideal location to explore the stunning countryside and the local deserted sandy beaches, especially those between Dornoch and Embo. The cottage is very well equipped and provided a comfortable base for our trip. Elaine was a good helpful host and we really appreciated the homegrown green beans that she left for us one evening. We had great weather during our stay and intend to return to see more of this beautiful area.

If I could give a 6 star rating I would as this is one of the best AirB&B's we've ever stayed at. It is exceptionally well appointed, communication with Elaine and Brian was great and if you're after a quiet location to explore the countryside Monach cottage ticks all the boxes.
