Charming one-bed garden apartment in a XXII century palazzo. Located just a few steps from the town's square, it opens onto one of the most beautiful hanging gardens that surround the old town, with commanding views over the valley and the mountains.
Combining the best of country and city living, the property is located within an ancient building dating back to the middle ages and features splendid terracotta cross-barrel vaults. The apartment opens onto a large terraced garden of exclusive use, still contained within the medieval fortifications and with commanding views over the countryside, the valley and the Appennine mountains. The house has an en-suite bedroom and a main bathroom, both with shower, and a fully fitted kitchen (fridge, larder, oven and ceramic induction cooker). The highlight of the property is however the outdoor area, with the welcoming terrace ideal for breakfasts or tea breaks and the large, west-facing terraced garden set up for true al fresco dining. Here, surrounded by ancient pines and laurels, palms, olives and lemon trees and overlooking the countryside you feel immersed in an unspoiled environment that hardly changed over the centuries. The apartment is perfect for a couple and there is a sofa bed in the living room that is suitable for children. A crib for infants can be provide on request. You will be received directly at the property and handed over the keys after a quick 'induction' to the house and the outdoor areas. Assistance is offered throughout your stay for any kind of request or problem, to ensure your stay is pleasant and relaxing.
You will have full and exclusive use of the terrace and garden. Chairs, deck chairs, shading umbrellas and tables are available to allow outdoor living and dining.
Interaction with guests
We are always glad to share our local knowledge recommending favourite restaurants, local markets, best parking locations, shopping amenities and art must-see. We can assist our guests with reservations of cultural events such as the Opera Incanto events, the Persiani Theatre season (both held in Recanati within short walking distance from the house) or the Sferisterio Opera Festival in Macerata amongst others. We are also able to offer private guided tours of Le Marche cities and towns (including Urbino and Ascoli piceno), of local museums or of wine and oil routes by one of the officially registered guides living in the area (hourly fee).
Other things to note
Please be aware that, while fully restored and regularly maintained, this is an historic house so do expect what comes with a building that is almost 800 years old. Also, having large french windows opening onto the garden we recommend, for your benefit, that you are careful in not letting in insects or other animals just as you would do in any countryside house. Last but not least, while there is no air conditioning provided, the walls are more than one metre wide and even during a summer heatwave the house is fresh and cool inside.
We love welcoming guests in our house and do our best to make them feel comfortable and at home. In exchange we do expect respect for the house and for its antique furniture as well as for the neighbours. Smoking is not permitted within the apartment, however you are free to do so in the terrace.
