Location

Westville, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

The great thing about Westville is its accessibility to Durban and surrounds, while still managing to remain a quiet and beautiful residential suburb.

Westville is positioned close to the freeways going in all directions that bring you even closer to attractions like The Midlands Meander and Umhlanga.
- 5-minute drive to Pavilion Mall
- 15-minute drive to the Durban city centre
- 20-minute drive to uShaka Marine World
- 20-minute drive to Suncoast Casino and Entertainment
- 25-minute drive to Gateway Theatre Of Shopping
- 30-minute drive from King Shaka International Airport

Westville has three notable shopping centres:
1. Westville Mall has a comprehensive retail offering and is a central meeting point for the community.
2. The Pavilion Mall, the largest shopping centre in Westville and the second largest in the Durban area, after Gateway Theatre of Shopping in Umhlanga.
3. Westville Junction and Westwood Mall are other popular malls, and there are numerous smaller strips of retail shops dotted throughout the suburb.

Westville has become quite a business centre, and office parks have attracted a few major companies and professional firms enjoy it out here, where it is slightly cooler than Durban and bounded by the N3 and M19, making accessibility easy.

The Westville campus of the University of KwaZulu Natal is situated in the suburb and, aside from being a rather pretty campus, also boasts a Hindu temple and an Islamic place of worship - a reflection of its multi-cultural student body, who come here to study science, engineering, humanities and social science, among other degrees.

Westville has always served as a refined, slower paced suburb of Durban - possibly because of its history as farming land during the early 1920s, and it is here that people head for more of a ‘country’ lifestyle. The homes here are set amongst rolling hills, on large properties with gardens peppered by meandering streams, and tree-lined streets. Westville fulfils the desirable “live, work, play” lifestyle.

Hi, I'm Janet! I grew up in busy Gauteng and relocated to beachy KwaZulu Natal when my husband was transferred to assist in pastoring a church I spend my days planning events, sourcing products and painting. If I catch a spare moment, I love a good reality TV series, or to sit in my art studio and paint - oil, acrylic, mixed medium I LOVE IT ALL! My passion is people! I love to create welcoming environments for people from all walks of life. I love to stay at the Berg, the beach or jump on an aeroplane for family holidays; we are a large, close-knit family, so it's imperative to us that we get away from it all and can enjoy each other! Regarding my likes, - I'm not really one for music, lol, but I do love listening to audiobooks... My husband, Steve is definitely the muso between the pair of us! - Again, I'm not too clued up on sport (apart from my grandchildren's sports matches or ballet concerts!), although I know Steve would love to have a sports-related chat anytime! - I do like to read a good book, mainly biographies but a good novel can also go down well! - I enjoy watching movies whether at the cinema or home! I appreciate all sorts of genres, except for horror! I was thrilled when Airbnb became popular as it gave us the opportunity to host travellers for prices that won't break their travel-budgets. We are quite the hosts if I do say so myself, and we find fulfilment when someone leaves Winston House having had an enjoyable stay and when we have been able to help out and try to go the extra mile. Hoping to meet you soon!
