Location: This apartment is near UNC Asheville (UNCA) and the neighborhood appears to support some student housing. The house sits at the end of a street but it is not actually a dead end street. Instead the street circles this row of houses. As a result, late night traffic can be heard throughout the apt as cars go down one side of the street and then circles around to other side. So in this location you hear every car twice. For some reason traffic seems higher than we would have expected on this street, esp at night. On one side of the street is a large open field surrounded by a tall chain link fence that is owned by UNCA with signs that say "Future UNCA Building Site". Police and / or UNCA Security police patrol this area all night with search lights. Because there are no shades but lots of windows the search lights at late hours into the night sometimes shine directly into the apartment. This was something we didn't calculate into renting an apt with no shades which look charming during the day. It would also have been nice to have shades at least on the side of the house facing the neighbors for privacy. The Apartment: The owner lives here on and off throughout the year so it retains many of the owner's belongings. It seems designed for one person for example, the bedroom is partially open and the bathtub is in the bedroom. For longer stays it may also be helpful to know there is no dresser in either the main bedroom or the spare located downstairs. We stayed a month at this apartment and got to know a few of the neighbors and all are very nice and lots of dog owners so very dog friendly which we loved! Asheville is beautiful and we have many friends here. It is a warm and friendly town!

Response from Celeste:
I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay, Pamela! I offered to provide shades for you when you asked if there were any shades on the windows off the kitchen (as you looked at a bare window before you). It's a pity you declined if you really wanted them in place. I was happy to hear how much you liked the location of the tub as we stood in the home together viewing everything thoroughly together to ensure that all was satisfactory. Airbnb was created so that people could share their homes with others, hence the personal touch from the homeowner. I wish well in all of your endeavors!

This house is beautiful! We celebrated my dad's 50th here and it was great, we even got to cook a wonderful breakfast that morning. Celeste was available for anything we needed and check-in/check-out was seamless. It was a short ride to both downtown and the parkway. We would definitely stay here again.

Great small home. It was perfect for 4 people. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook in one morning. Celeste was available if needed. She reached out the day before and day of to make sure I got in and out. We will stay here again!

Celeste was quick to respond to any questions or needs that we had. Check in and out was quick and easy. The house was clean, quaint, well-planned for a small space, and had a great kitchen and porch. It was fine for three of us but would be absolutely perfect for two. I would definitely book this house again on my next trip to Asheville.

I probably enjoy the spaces my husband and I stay in as much as the destinations! I do a lot of looking to find a space that I would like to enjoy. Celeste's home was no exception. A creative redo of what would have been a ho-hum space. I agree with the other three reviews listed about need for a car. And I would say I did not feel the lack of privacy in the master bedroom is clearly stated. Great for two, no privacy for more: open stairwell to lower bedroom from upper one. We really enjoyed the front porch. Weather was moderate so we sat out several times and ate out there also. I would stay here again if just us two. Yes, fine place for several girls who want a weekend away.

Celeste was on time and easy to deal with. Property is beautiful and a cook's dream with all Viking appliances. However, it's a hike to downtown (about 1.5 miles) so a car is essential. Improvements that would make it better would include shades-has great windows which allow natural light but also the lack of shades make you feel exposed. Bedroom and bath have some temporary shades for privacy.

Urban tranquility was a wonderful property-a perfect space for our girls weekend away. Celeste was so friendly and helpful with restaurant and shopping recommendations.

Having lived in Asheville for 20+ years, sharing tips about places to dine and things to do is a natural joy. I've been designing and developing properties for more than a decade, and hosting guests for as long. Creating spaces for guests to enjoy is a true labor of love! I also enjoy travel, and have integrated some architectural pieces I've gathered along the journey into some of my rentals.
I'm so delighted to accommodate you, your family, and friends!
