A romantic grade 2 listed chocolate box cottage dating back from 1672 with outside well, enclosed garden, courtyard and hot tub!
Original low beamed ceilings, inglenook fireplace & cranked staircase.
Recently renovated, the cottage has private access, underfloor heating, a fully fitted kitchen & bathroom with bath.
A unique piece of history within walking distance of Goostrey & Holmes Chapel and close to Radbrooke Hall.

The space
Hawthorn cottage is a grade 2 listed farmers cottage retaining many original features. Original oak floorboards can be found upstairs with original oak beams. Due to the heritage listing we are unable to modify any of these features for guests with limited mobility. We have a unique original cranked staircase with low headroom in some areas; therefore we do suggest that guests staying are happy climbing a winding ladder type staircase.

Our guests enjoy private access to the cottage and its garden. An original well, courtyard and enclosed outside space make it ideal for guests with dogs, with countryside walks quite literally on your doorstep.

There is an added benefit of having a hot tub for your personal use. We provide robes, towels and disposable slippers for your time at the cottage so you won't need to pack anything extra!

Guest access
Guests have access to their own courtyard with original well and enclosed cottage garden with hot tub. The cottage has its own private access.

Other things to note
A stay at Hawthorn Cottage is contact-free experience. Guests are welcome to arrive anytime from 3pm on the arrival day, while departure is by 10am on the final day. We are asking everyone to strictly adhere to these times, which are crucial to ensuring that we have enough time to clean the building to an enhanced standard while following the Government physical distancing rules.

Inside the cottage, we are keeping to our usual high standards of presentation. All kitchenware and crockery is clean but not sanitised, so we are recommending that guests rewash items in hot, soapy water before use.

If, during a stay, there is an exceptional reason why a member of staff or trusted contractor may need to visit a property (for example to rectify an issue in the building), we will inform guests with as much notice as possible and adhere to all Government physical distancing rules.

To help keep our staff safe, we’re asking guests to strip their beds, and empty the fridge at the end of a stay, with easy arrangements in place.

If, during a stay, any person starts to show symptoms of Coronavirus or is advised to self-isolate, we’re asking that guests let us know as soon as possible, and appropriate measures will be taken.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE HOT TUB WILL BE OUT OF USE AND WELCOME PACK WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FROM NOV 9th THROUGH THE NOVEMBER LOCKDOWN. WE HAVE REDUCED PRICES FOR THIS PERIOD FOR GUESTS NEEDING ACCOMMODATION FOR WORK, EDUCATION OR MEDICAL REASONS.

COVID SECURE
Cleanliness of the cottage is paramount to us. We use virucidal, commercial-grade disinfectants, but have now introduced additional products that are certified to kill Coronavirus.

We are taking extra care of high-touch surface areas such as door handles, light switches, kettles and toasters. We are also ensuring the cleanliness of our upholstery, including armchairs and curtains. Laundry is washed at 90 degrees.

We provide cleaning products which can be found under the kitchen sink, during a stay, guests are welcome to use these freely.

Unfortunately no candles and naked flames permitted in the cottage

We do not charge a cleaning fee - all cutlery, crockery, pots and pans to be washed, dried and put away before departure

Hot Tub rules:
- Please bathe before using the Hot Tub
- No guests to enter the Hot Tub wearing any oils, creams or fake tan as it will cause damage to the Hot Tub and discolour (to orange) the water, and affect the filtration system
- Do not consume food or smoke in the Hot Tub
- Do not use glassware in or near the Hot Tub – please use the plastic glasses provided
- Close the lid and lock the clips when the Hot Tub is not in use
- Do not use the Hot Tub continuously for more than a maximum of 1 hour at a time as this will result in temperature loss and deterioration in the water quality – leave at least a one-hour gap between each period of use
- Read the Hot Tub Safety Rules, and sign the Disclaimer
