When we arrived at the property we were met by a family friend of Michele. She was lovely but didn't speak any English. The apartment looked as described. There was however a very musty damp smell in the bedroom and we had to strip the bed sheets and didn't use the towels. Luckily we had our own. It was ok but slightly basic in the kitchen (no kettle). The amenities were quite low. No washing up liquid, hand soap or anything to clean and only one toilet roll. The wifi was good but only in the living room. The rules concerning the building were quite strict. Michele was easily contactable which was great.

Response from Michele:
I am surprised of what Fiona wrote about the smell and the lack of amenities as nobody signalled these issues before and there are plenty of cutlery, pots, pens, water boiler and also a coffee machine. As she mentioned I was always reachable anytime and she never signalled to me these little problems which could be easily fixable. Reccomend to read also the other 20+ reviews.

Michele was in Australia at the time of our arrival and we had some trouble getting access to the property. This was partly our fault as we hadn't read the instructions Michele had sent correctly. However the apartment is in a delightful small community on the shores of the lake and with the help of the locals we made contact with Ronata who opened up for us and showed is where everything was

A perfect apartment in an amazing place. The apartment had everything we needed, it was comfortable and in a perfect location. Less than a 2 minute walk to lovely bars, a local shop and little beaches for swimming in the lake (once you overcome the stones). A 10 minute walk took you to the centre of town which had bars, restaurants and ice cream. The boat service is good and the day ticket passes allow you to stop in a few different places. Venice is less than 2 hours away by train and well worth the journey. We would love to return to the apartment very soon and would highly recommend to other people.

Very clean, cosy and well stocked apartment located in a picturesque street with everything you wish for in walking distance. Michele was a very obliging and caring host and communication with him was very friendly and easy. We particularly enjoyed spending sunny time in the beautiful little garden and the great view on the lake. The bed in the main bedroom was the largest I have ever seen :) Thanks a lot to Michele and Renata!

Our stay in Gargnano was lovely as always. Gargnano is a very special place and the flat is very well located. We have used the property now on several occasions and always been reasonably happy with it. Its cheap, and you get what you pay for. There have always been niggly issues with leaking toilets, Wi-fi not working, Boiler not working sometimes etc etc. But nothing that put us off and we couldn’t live with. Until this trip, where there were several obvious deficiencies with the accommodation. All the outdoor chairs were broken and unsafe to use, without exception. The toilet is still leaking, as is the radiator in the bedroom (even in the summer, when not in use??). A dining chair was missing a seat, but still in the flat. Broken glass found swept under the bed. It has gone beyond shabby chic now. Some things are just not fit for purpose. We will be back in Gargnano for sure. But we have said our goodbyes to this host, and this property. We will be upgrading on both fronts from now on. 10 days after we left, and after the property had other guests, we were asked to pay several hundred euros for some random stains the host found in the common area used by all the flats. It had nothing to do with any of us and the claim was turned down by Airbnb, but has left us with a bitter taste. A word of advice to people booking this property would be to ask for a proper check in and check out (also looking at the common staircase, other areas etc) so you don’t get hit with unexpected charges.

Response from Michele:
The assumptions mentioned by Ni are simply not correct. The positive 20+ reviews for this listing and the 40 ones for the others I have with Airbnb can prove exactly the opposite of what she claimed. For the sake of clarity, pls read the review I left on her profile.

We had nice time at lake Garda. Villa di Gargnano is a beautiful and picturesque villague. Michelle answered my request fast and in a vry friendly manner. His attention was from the best kind! He is very well prepared and can be contacted anytime. Vittorio was also very friendly to us. The flat is very cosy and has a nice view to the lake. I can recommend a stay at this apartment.

Michele, thank you very much. This was nice to stay in your apartment- it's bigger than it seems on pictures. Silent place and picturesque lake view made our our dreams true. Especially want to thank for ice and ice-box in refrigerator ;-) we really needed glass of cool wine after long trip
