1 of 5 self-catering cottages. Great for walking, fishing, biking or simply getting away from it all. Situated 2 miles from the beautiful market town of Llanidloes where you will find supermarkets, pubs restaurants and a swimming pool.

The space

Nestling on the easterly slopes of an unspoilt valley, Glyngynwydd is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty amid mountains, hills, lakes and rivers. South of Llanidloes we stand in twelve acres of land which include; woodland, a wildlife pond, meadow, relaxing gardens and our own stream and dingle for our guests to enjoy.

Guest access

Guests have the cottage to themselves and there is space for parking. A small stream runs along the front of each cottage with a little footbridge providing access to your door. A pathway leads to the garden and barbecue area. There is also a fully equipped laundry room with barbecue equipment and ball games. Unfortunately the cottages are not suitable for wheelchair access.

Interaction with guests

We are a family of 5 who bought Glyngynwydd in January 2014 and are really excited about living in Mid Wales. We live on site and are more than happy to help with any questions or queries.
We are now running Cheese & Chocolate making courses in conjunction with Artisan Country Craft as well as Annie Sloan painting courses, please ask for details.

Lovely location far enough away from civilsation to be quiet and private but close enough not to feel cut off. If you have dogs be careful of the ticks in the woods. They thrive in humid, moist conditions and would like nothing more than to hitch a ride on your pooch. Horrible, dangerous things

This was a lovely cottage containing everything we needed for our trip to Wales. The hosts were so friendly and always responded to any of our questions before we arrived on Air B&B and were very approachable if we needed anything during our stay. I would definitely recommend to anyone considering staying in this area :)

Thank you Carla, we had a lovely stay and everything was easy and smooth - even getting some freshly laid eggs!

What a find! I stayed as part of a business trip but if I had kids or a large family, this place would be brilliant. Wish I'd had more time to spend enjoying instead of working but will definitely go back xx free fresh eggs made a beautiful omelette

Great cottage in a great location! Hosts had provided everything we needed and the views from the door were lovely. We had to work while there and unfortunately the wifi was not always reliable.

We had a great time here and on arrival Carla really kindly surprised us with a bottle of prosecco because we'd got married a few days before. It is hard to reach if you don't drive and because of that it is really peaceful. The family are all really friendly and we were just left to it and not bothered. But they were on hand if we had any questions. Really picturesque and I'd stay again! Pros: Kitchen facility has everything and we bought and cooked food in there. We smashed a glass and Carla kindly didn't charge us. Supermarkets and places to eat are in driving distance. Living room is great, bring DVDs because signal can be dodgy but other than that the TV works fine. Very clean and tidy. Close to Aberystwyth and other activities like walking, horse riding etc. Bed really comfortable. Owners really kind and helpful. Cons: The walls are thin so we could hear people talking outside and the guests and dog next door. It was quite cold in the rooms but there is a portable heater and a free lump of coal. Our bathroom had a communal clothes washing line outside and so we permanently had the blinds down because you could see right in from outside. Bathroom is downstairs so not easy for the middle of the night. WiFi didn't work most of the time and no mobile signal.
