This is a nice property made of 2 small houses, one has a queen bed, a well-equipped kitchen, dining room area and indoor sink, toilet and shower. The other one has 2 small beds, indoor sink, storage space, and outdoor toilet and shower. A water pump is located in the second casita and is a little loud when someone is using the water (and silent when nobody is using the water). But this is not a problem as long as nobody flushes the toilet in the middle of the nigh. And thanks to this pump, water pressure is very good. The property is right on the beach, 15 feet or so higher than the sea level. This is very nice for water activities such as kitesurfing and SUP. The shore in front of the property is a little rocky at low tide so it might not be ideal for beginner kitesurfers, but it should not be a problem for the others. At high tide, rocks are covered by 2 feet of water. The closest rock-free beach is just 500 feet north of the property. The space between the 2 casitas is very nice with a tree, and nice outdoor lightings. The property is well maintained because a local management property is taking care of it. The host, Gary, is very responsive and communication with the host is a delight. This house is good for 3 or 4 people (2 or 3 parties). A vehicle is not completely necessary, since the best grocery in town is just 5 minutes walk, but it'll makes things easier because most restaurants, bars and cafes are 1 or 2 miles away. I would definitely go there again.

With the mindset of wanting to escape home comforts and relax into the ease of Mexican simplicity this rental property made that a reality. We made use of the unique layout to come together as a family, carve out time for ourselves and as a couple. The magically lit courtyard at night with the ocean as our landscape was perfect for conversations, dancing or being lulled into relaxation by the waves for quiet contemplation. Waking up to beautiful sunrises, church bells, roosters and fishermen going about their work paved the way for stress free days. The kitchen was well equipped for making full breakfasts from groceries acquired at the grocery store located within walking distance. My only request would be to have a knife sharpener on hand to improve the cutting ability of the knives provided. If modesty is your thing, then perhaps the bathroom facilities are not for you. None of the toilets are equipped with full privacy, so announcing to your fellow housemates that a certain area is off limits, grabbing a moment of privacy while others are at the beach, or not caring at all may be considerations you want to try to help your stay. The showers would be perfect during the hot season with their cold sanctuary from the heat, but we all managed to get clean with short warm showers when managing the timing of it all. The Laidlaws have setup a well rounded rental with the very basics met at a comforting level. Clean home, comfortable beds, adequate cooking facilities and back-up supplies for linen and toiletries. Located away from most of the kiteboarding schools might be a concern if you do not have access to motorized or pedal power transportation. All in all, we are grateful for this property being a great catalyst for some treasured memories.

Gary and Lori contacted us very speedily and we booked with ease. The casitas are on the beach in an area of town where the locals live. The neighbors are all very friendly and we felt very safe. Some nights we walked along the beach to the grocery store to get locally made ice cream. There is a fish market nearby but some fisherman also bring their catch to the beach right outside the house and you can buy it from them. We also caught our own fish which was delicious. The casitas are beautifully simple, clean and have a very kind relaxing energy about them. We loved the palapa roofs as they keep the place cool. I say the casitas are simple but we did not want for anything. In the morning we would wake up and watch the sun rise over the water which was spectacular. Because the place was gated and fenced in our 3 year old could roam around and we felt completely at ease as did she. We ate our meals in the courtyard and used the grill outside. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back. Many thanks to Gary and Lori
