George and I are new to Airbnb but not to alternative ways to travel. We have had wonderful experience both as travelers and hosts. We've hosted guests that stayed for a week-end to families who have stayed for months to years. Our guests have turned into friends that we continue to see. In our own travels, hotel alternatives, have enabled us to have more and longer adventures away from home. We are fortunate to report we have only had positive and safe experiences.
George is a retired Berkeley firefighter. His many interests keep him busy. He is a long time welder creating outdoor works of art. He also has a small vineyard that he lovingly tends. George has been a long time season pass holder for Lake Tahoe's Heavenly Valley Ski Resort. He's also an avid reader and griller.
Mari is semi-retired from teaching and owning a small restaurant. She spends her leisure time cooking and thrift store shopping.
Together, their biggest joy is their family which has just grown by three new grandchildren. Their three adult children relocated to New Orleans which prompted their second home purchase and renovation. Mari and George enjoy attending weekly Mass together and caring for Frida their two year old rescue dog.
