Interaction with guests
A host family member will usually be discreetly on and off the acreage, parking away from you. There is an artist's studio on the five acres where your host will stay when on site. Your host will usually greet you, then leave you to enjoy the privacy and sweetness of the house, lawn, woods, and the surrounding Port Townsend area. Offering you guidance to the area is our pleasure.

My profession is educator, mostly high school English or Language Arts. My passion since childhood has been surfing, which has taken me around the world. I play at a few other sports, i.e. swimming and sculling. I also get a lot of joy from long walks...alone or with a friend, life feels just about right while walking.
My wife is a nurse who might have been an artist or designer. She is very receptive to beauty, and that has been a blessing to all in our family. We start every day sharing the time it takes to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. This is a really good thing.
I am a life long reader. Some favorite novels are "The French Lieutenant's Woman" "Huckleberry Finn", "The Two Husbands of Dona Flor", and "Night Train to Lisbon". A lot of non-fiction lately.
