Great one bedroom in a quiet street with subway access on both sides of it (1 and A lines). Building with 2 elevators, Laundry in the basement, lots of restaurants in the hood. A great place to return after a day hassling through Downtown Manhattan.

The space

I am renting an ENTIRE APARTMENT in Manhattan, NYC!
The apartment has a nice size bedroom with a great bathroom (suite) and a nice living room together with kitchen (that has a dishwasher and a microwave). The Living room has a very comfy and easily assembled sofa bed. The building has 2 elevators and laundry in the basement.

It is located in the Washington Heights/Inwood Area. (It IS IN MANHATTAN!) 10 minutes by train - either 1 or the A train - to the Upper West Side (Manhattan) very easy to get to all other hoods in all boroughs.

I am renting it for any time within a month. So I favor a stay between 7-20 days max at this juncture. During the summer months I am willing to rent for more than one month as I normally travel. But currently (from September to May, I might consider a longer stay occasionally in case I am not in town.

The apartment is IDEAL for 1-3 persons. For example, a couple with 1 kid or a couple and 1 extra friend - whichever adds up to 3 persons all of this can work out pretty comfortably. Extra guests (a 4th guest for example, given the extra expenses with light, water, utilities/gas etc.) adds up $25 DOLLARS PER NIGHT OF STAY on the total amount normally paid (1-3 guests).

Detail: I am a composer and teach at Columbia University. So I have references.

Guest access

To basically everything in the apartment/building.

Interaction with guests

I won't be there while you enjoy the place. It's all for the guests...In case I am NOT in town a friend will be able to help if needed (lost key, access to apt. Etc. - only if it's an emergency) .and btw you can always text me on my phone and I'll try to answer you as quick as possible as I am the first option to reach if you experience any problem.

I want you to be sensitive, NOT TO SMOKE in the apartment at all, and since i am a musician just be careful with the instruments/speakers and books around (some will be out of the way though and some will be available for you like the speakers). I want people responsible and clean that clean after their mess somehow... Relax but somehow tidy up sometimes and preferably clean the dishes (with the dishwasher it's pretty easy I must say...). The rest it's up to you. I am sure you will have a great time!!

Arthur was very communicative with us throughout our whole stay! Whenever we needed anything or had any questions, he would reply almost instantly. When we first moved in, Arthur helped us carry all of our luggage in. Arthur provided a quiet, well-stocked, and safe place during our stay and we appreciate him so much for that. Thank you once again!

Arthur was very kind to let me stay in his apartment. He met us in his apartment, handed us two sets of keys and also took some time to show us around the neighborhood (grocery stores, nearby subway stations, food recommendations, etc). The apartment was clean, and living there was very comfortable. There was no lack of kitchen utensils and Arthur had spares of everything: lightbulbs, soap, dish sponges, garbage bags. He answered any questions we had, and also texted back if I had any questions during my trip. Overall, a great experience!

The apartment is close to 2 subway stations that take you directly to the most "famous" parts of NY, and there are supermarkets and deli's on a walking distance from the apartment, which avoided us from eating at a restaurant every day. Arthur was very kind to us and helped us check in earlier, which was great! The apartament is exactly as described/on the photos. Thank you for all your help and tips, Arthur! See you next time!

Our host Mr Arthur is a real gentlemen. He greeted my family when we arrived there and was flexible with the check in check out timings. He explained about the house and appliances in detail and handed over 2 sets of keys and access card. The apartment is very safe as the main building is gated by an access door. We stayed there for 8 days and once we returned back at 3 am ! The living room has awesome JBL speakers. Kitchen is fully furnished, bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean and tidy. Though the apartment is an old building it was well maintained . The access to downtown is very convenient as both ABC and 123 lines of metro stations are just few steps walk away. Lots of fast foods near by the street. A grocery shop is just 2 blocks away and is open till mid night so basic needs can be met easily. We loved our stay at Arthur 's place as we were super tired when we returned back from downtown daily it was a relaxing place for us. I will definitely take an opportunity to stay in his place again in future. Thanks Arthur for hosting us.
