Calm and convenient location

Guests say this area is peaceful and it’s easy to get around.
Our studio is a light and comfortable space, with ensuite shower room, on the ground floor of our Victorian home, overlooking the back garden. We can offer off-street parking for 1 car - a real bonus in this area. We’ve tried to make sure you have everything you need to make you feel at home.

The space
The studio is self-contained with its own entrance. Sleep in comfort in the kingsize bed. All bedding and linen is provided, along with towels (including beach towels). There’s plenty of hanging space with a good supply of hangers, and wicker baskets for non-hanging items.

There is shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, handwash and body lotion in the shower room. Please be aware that the height of the shower is just under 200cm, so if you’re particularly tall this may not be quite perfect for you! If you’re visiting in the winter months the underfloor hearing will help keep you comfortable.

We’ve provided a hairdryer, and an iron and ironing board should you need them.

The small dining table doubles as a desk space if you’re here on business. There is a freeview tv and Wi-Fi availability.

Books about Brighton and the surrounding area, and general information about the studio, will help you make the most of your stay. There’s also a selection of games if you fancy a quiet couple of hours in.

Though compact the kitchen is equipped with everything you should need for eating and drinking, including a microwave/oven/grill, a double hob and a toaster.

Guest access
In addition to the self-contained living space and parking space, there is an area of garden at the side of the house, with seating, which you are welcome to use. It is relatively private but does adjoin the rest of the garden.

Other things to note
We have stocked up on a good selection of teas and coffees (pods for the Nespresso machine, as well as ground coffee if you prefer a cafetière). Plus there’ll be milk, butter and juice in the fridge, sugar in the sugar bowl and filled salt and pepper mills. Delicious fresh bread and pastries are available from the local deli every morning except Sunday (if you’re up early enough!).

Neighbourhood highlights

We are within walking distance of most of Brighton’s attractions (under 20 minutes at an average pace to the North Laine shops and cafes, 25 minutes to the city centre, the beach and the Pier, and 15 to the main train station).

Preston Park and the smaller Blaker’s Park are both within 5 minutes walk, as is the fabulous Duke of York’s picture house. There are useful local shops just 3 minutes away, including a chemist, a florist and an excellent deli.

Brighton and Hove is a colourful, creative and vibrant city which hosts many major annual events, including the Festival and Fringe throughout May, Pride in August, and Brighton marathon in April. The number and variety of places to eat and drink is truly impressive, including some really good options with a 5 minute walk. (We’ll leave details of some of our favourites in the studio for you.)
