Llansaint is a small village steeped in history and was once famous for the cockles that were harvested from Carmarthen Bay for many centuries. The tradition was of women supplementing the household income by gathering by hand and then transporting the shellfish on donkeys, this only came to an end in 1973. "Any man marrying a Llansaint cockle-woman was considered a lucky man and set up for life."
Nowadays sad to say, if you want live cockles you will have to harvest them yourselves:-)
Please note that the nearest shop's are in Kidwelly (again steeped in history with the infamous haunted castle) less than a 10 minute drive away from Llansaint.
But more importantly the local public house in Llansaint still exists and is not only the hub of the community, it has a genuine friendly atmosphere and all are welcome. Serving delicious food either in the bar or restaurant, the steaks are highly recommended, you can also order most things from the menu to take away including Sunday lunch.
(Closed Monday's)
Visit the Kings Arms Llansaint website for more information on opening times and menu.

We live in a beautiful part of Wales overlooking Carmarthen Bay with the Gower to the left and Tenby to the right and love to share it with others. We originally bought the old farmhouse for the position and the views. Unfortunately the house was in such a state of disrepair we ended up knocking down both the barn and the house and rebuilding them both. (It also persuaded us both into a new career, as we had made such fundamental mistakes on our assessment of the property - we trained as building surveyors so that we could help others make informed decisions when buying a property - no matter how romantic or how good the views). This gave us the ability to design it just how we wanted it to be and combine the old and the new and make it into a contemporary living space with all it's original charm. Now we love to share that experience with our guests. We both work full time and do not have a lot of free time as we love to travel and socialise too. When Fiona and my brother David moved to Wales and stayed in Hen Beudy whilst looking for a property to live in, as experienced Airbnb hosts, formerly in Brixham, they suggested we join Airbnb and they would co-host with us. We had already experienced Airbnb as guests and thought it would be a great idea. We have friends scattered all over England and Wales so we often meet up half way for a few days and enjoy the experience of staying in a "home" away from home. Mottos:- Live and Let Live Live everyday as if it is your last and enjoy every minute. And the one I like the best - my favourite of them all :- Dance as though no-one is watching you, Love as though you have never been hurt before, Sing as though no-one can hear you, Live as though heaven is on earth.

We respect our guests privacy but like to pop around to say hello (if we're at home) and to check that everything is satisfactory to ensure you enjoy your stay.
