Myself and a friend stayed at Stables Cottage for a 2 night stay whilst we explored Napier. For us it was the prefect location to relax after our travels, great to sit outside with a glass of wine and enjoy the sounds of the countryside. Stables Cottages comes with everything you need to connect to the outside world if you want eg internet, wifi, and it comes with everything you need should you want to cook. Deidra & Ronald were very helpful with the few queries we had, e.g. Extra set of bedding needed, and sorting out a small problem with the Wifi connection. A great find and I would love to visit again.

We were looking forward to this stop after reading the many positive reviews but found the property to be very primitive and badly maintained with no air conditioning and no fan provided. Very basic amenities and the cooker and barbecue were filthy. We moved on after one night as it was not to our liking. The location was fine.

Response from Dzidra & Ronald:
Thank you for your review, Marilyn. We are sorry that the accommodation wasn't quite up to your standards. The description mentions very clearly that the cottage is ideally suited to a family and 2 children. (or a couple alone) For 4 people it works out to be $45 per person and that is on par with backpackers around the country and certainly good value considering that you have privacy and the whole place to yourself. We also supply milk, organic fruit and our own extra virgin olive oil free of charge. The time you were here it was very hot but that too isn't unusual for Napier. All that was required was to ask for a fan or anything else you would have liked. :-)

Staying at Ronald and Dzidra's place in Clive suited us well. It gave us independence being able to cater for ourselves, whilst Ronald was there if we needed advice. The bungalow has everything you could need. It is well situated for Napier and vineyards. We visited Clearview and had a superb lunch followed by a very informative wine tasting. It is an area and AirBnB we would like to revisit as we had only a short time there.

We stayed at Dzidra and Ronald's place for three nights and we had a brilliant stay. It's spacious, clean and really comfortable and is very well equipped. Having the computer available was a really nice touch as we haven't had use of one in over a month. Dzidra and Ronald were great hosts, they were good communicators and made arrival really easy. They left plenty of information for the local area which helped us plan our days. Little touches like leaving fresh olive oil and having a bbq available for use made this place extra great! We highly recommend it!

Ronald's place worked really well for us. The large kitchen diner has all the amenities you need for self-catering (including a bbq outside) and the rooms including the sitting room look out over the garden. Nice touches were the home-pressed olive oil and fruit. We also used the bikes to visit the vineyards along the cycle paths. No TV but literally hundreds of films available and the music system we connected to via Bluetooth. I was very lucky to go out for a quick horse ride with Dzidra too. All in all a great stay, thank you!

We had a lovely stay at Ronald's cottage. It had everything we needed plus more - beautiful daffodils to welcome us and even some home-produced olive oil. We had a very comfortable stay and Ronald and his wife were friendly, welcoming hosts.

The Stables Cottage was in calm woodland, very close to Napier, but not in the hustle and bustle. We wanted somewhere close to Napier so this was a great base.
