Our funky refurbished farm house is the perfect retreat for music lovers, artists, writers, foodies and cyclists. It has a fully equipment kitchen, veggie gardens, fruit trees, endless books and music memorabilia.. We have stunning country side views and a 6 minute drive from unspoilt dog friendly beaches. Alternatively cool of in our beautiful magnesium pool and listens to the chorus of nature surrounding our beautiful home.

The space
The house has 3 bedrooms, plus a studio with a comfy sofa bed. So we can comfortably sleep, 8 people.

The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, en suite shower room, walk-in wardrobe, air conditioning and doors that open onto the back deck and pool.

The second and third bedrooms are at the front of the house. The second bedroom has a Queen bed and the third bedroom has a double bed. They both open out onto the studio which leads to the sunken bathroom.

In the studio is a sofa bed should you wish to have 8 guests, and there is air conditioning. There is also two floating desks/ workstations.

Our studio leads to a front outside deck which we use as the entrance. It’s also a good spot to watch the sunset.

We have an open plan lounge space. With a fully equipped kitchen, 8-10 people dining space and a comfy sofa nook for movie night.

The open plan area connects to the pool area with bifold doors and windows. Making it inside outdoor living.

The large outside deck has a table, lounge area, a bar connection to the kitchen. It’s also home to our latest addition, our beautiful magnesium pool, with views over the stunning rural landscape.

The back deck catches the colours of sunset and sunrise.
It’s also the best space to watch all the wildlife and take in the stunning views of our land and neighbouring farmland.

In our 2 acres, we have a rainforest, veggie patches, chickens, fire pits, an outdoor shower and two outdoor baths to relax under the stars. Although please use green products and be careful of water consumption. As we are on tank water and so, therefore, all the water runoff feeds our fruit trees and veggies.

In our pine forest is a log cabin which is rented out permanently to a lovely young couple. Both residents are very independent of each other.

You can occasionally hear the freeway in the distance however if the wind is right you hear the waves instead. During festival times you can hear the music faintly.

Our house is the perfect place for foodies, families and friends looking for a quiet getaway and connection to nature

Guest access
Close to the Pacific Highway and just off the old Highway there is easy access from Coolangatta Airport (40mins), (20 mins) from Byron Bay, (10 mins) from either Brunswick Heads or Mullumbimby.
You get a real taste of country living, close to the beach and easy access to all the regions finest attractions.
We are 5 minutes from the North Byron Parklands Festival site and ten mins from the Bluesfest. Transport can be organised back and forwards to these events. North Parklands is about a 30 minute walk.
On the ocean side of Crabbes Creek, with it's quaint little general store, we are 5 mins drive from the wild and beautiful beaches of Wooyung and the river mouth of Pottsville.

Other things to note
There is so much to do in the area surfing, fishing, diving, windsurfing, whale watching, river cruises, stand up paddle-boarding, rainforest and waterfall walks, skydiving, ballooning, kayaking, mountain biking to name a few.

If the arts is more your thing you can organise a pottery class, go to an art class or try out some basket weaving.

The region has a very rich live music scene. Apart from the abundance of festivals in this area, you can see excellent live music every day and night of the week.

Markets are a major community and tourist attraction in the region. The farmers markets is where you will really rub shoulders with the locals. With live music every week, free kiddies crafts, free workshops and a few surprise events, shopping up here is a celebration rather than a chore.

We are lucky enough to have them 6 days a week, all with their different personalities. However, if you want to experience the community at it's colourful best then Mullum on a Friday morning is a must. It was voted by Delicious Magazine, in 2020 as the most ‘ Outstanding Farmers Market in Australia’. Set under giant fig trees in the Showgrounds, it really is one of the best places to have breakfast, people watch and shop.
If you really want to get off the beaten track then Mullum’s sister market on a Tuesday morning is tucked away in the quiet river snd beachside location of Née Brighton. It’s about half the
size of Mullum but it’s 35 plus stalls have everything you need.

Neighbourhood highlights

Crabbes Creek is a well loved little town in this diverse and alternate region. It has a real cross section of local farmers, hippies and sea changers all living side by side. It's most known for it's real strength of community spirit.
Throughout the year they run lots of family fun events in the Community Hall. Theres pop up food stalls every Friday and a delicious authentic Thai food every Saturday.
The Crabbes Creek General Store is really quaint. It has everything you would need and the staff and locals are really friendly.
There’s various other events at the community hall throughout the year. It could range from camp oven cook offs, yoga to live music. Just ask the shop wants happening.
Should however, you want the lights of Brunz or Byron they are just a short drive away.
What's most unique about Crabbes Creek is how you can experience rural living so close to the ocean. These deserted beaches barely have more than a sprinkle of people on even in the height of the tourist season.

My work: Farmers Market
Lives in Crabbes Creek, Australia
Originally from the UK, we spent many years travelling before finding this slice of paradise. Just a 7 min drive to deserted beaches, or 30 minutes to lush rainforests and waterfalls. We have farmers markets everyday of the week. There’s a huge live music, arts and entertainments scene. We’ve lived in the area for 11 years and our aim is to lead a permaculture lifestyle and live off the grid. We have pumping veggie gardens, fruit trees, chickens, two dogs, and a cat. The latest edition to our home is our beautiful pool. Which is an amazing way to cool down after working on the farm. We live in a vibrant community with a pop up restaurant every Friday. We live 5-10 minutes away from Brunswick Heads and 20 minutes from Byron Bay. We’re really close to both the Bluesfest and North Parklands festival sites. So you can escape to the hills or dip into the arts and entertainment or foodie scenes.
