Stay on the Chet Valley Vineyard & enjoy gorgeous views of the vines and countryside. The Vine house is a recently converted Stable, 8 miles from Norwich. The nearby Norfolk Broads and the Norfolk & Suffolk coastline offer sailing, canoeing, stunning beaches and fantastic walks. Contact the owners of the Vineyard directly well in advance of your stay to book a vineyard tour & tasting. The property is single storey with disabled access & facilities. We’d love to host you on our vineyard.

The space
This is a child and pet Friendly property. We welcome you and your well behaved pets (we charge £10 per pet for each part of a weeks stay, ie 1 week = £10 and 2 weeks = £20). This is to cover additional cleaning costs. A chilled bottle of our wine can be ordered to welcome you on your arrival, details of wines and prices can be found at https://www.chetvineyard.co.uk/wines. You may also book a wine tasting and tour directly with the owners in advance of your stay by contacting Chet Vally vineyard directly. John the owner and wine maker is passionate about making wines and would love to show you round his vineyard and share his wine with you on a tour. The Vine House is a great destination to get away from it all and relax overlooking the vineyard. We have good WiFi facilities so if you need to work whilst away there is excellent connectivity. The Vine House has many accessible features. Check out our accessibility statement. https://www.accessibilityguides.org/content/vine-house-chet-valley-vineyard

The property is heated by an air source heat pump which heats the water and powers the underfloor heating. The boiler is in the bathroom which is adjacent to the twin room. There is a slight vibration related “white noise” emitted by the unit. This is not normally commented on by guests but we have had a tiny minority who are disturbed by this. The unit cannot be switched off and it is designed to run constantly as the pressure drops when switched off and the system has to be re-primed. The heating will fail if switched off and then on again. Hence we would advise light sleepers sleeping in the twin room to wear ear plugs at night. There is a wood burning stove in addition in the lounge.

You can hire a hot tub to be delivered for your use during your stay from Norfolk Spa and Leisure. Guests need to contact via phone on 01603 754005 or 07779 800900.

Guest access
There is plenty of free parking immediately adjacent to the property. We have a locked key safe outside the property so self check in is simple. There are wide access doors, no steps and the entire property is on one level. Guests are very welcome to enjoy a peaceful walk amongst the vines immediately behind the Vine house. There is a courtyard area with out door seating and a garden planted with perennials plus a lawn immediately behind the Vine House. Check out our accessibility statement. https://www.accessibilityguides.org/content/vine-house-chet-valley-vineyard

Other things to note
There is an opportunity to have a wine appreciation and tasting weekend if you contact the owners directly.

Well behaved pets are welcome. We charge £10 per pet per part of a weeks stay (ie up to 1 week = £10, up to 2 weeks = £20). This is to cover additional cleaning costs. Please contact the owners in advance of booking with a pet to confirm the breed and age of your pet. No pets to be left unsupervised in the property at any time. Muddy paws must be wiped on returning to the property from walks. Pets are not allowed on the furniture and owners are advised to bring their own pets bed with them. Location

Bergh Apton, England, United Kingdom

Set on the beautiful Chet Valley Vineyard, The Vine House is in a peaceful rural location literally amongst the vines in the lovely South Norfolk Village of Bergh Apton. There is a Post office within the village at award winning Green Pastures garden centre which has an excellent farm shop and restaurant plus tea rooms - a great place for brunch. The nearest small town is Loddon where there are three pubs, a selection of takeaway restaurants, a butchers, a Coop store and a launderette. Bergh Apton is a quiet but friendly village with its nearby pub The George and Dragon which is in Thurton on the A146. Nearby Beccles has more amenities with several shops (including Tesco’s and Morrison’s) and restaurants and a rail service with connections to London. Both Loddon and Beccles are on the Broads. The fine City of Norwich is only 8 miles away with excellent shopping opportunities and is easily accessible by bus or car. Norwich Castle and Cathederal are well worth a visit. Also the Sainsbury’s Arts centre at the University of East Anglia (UEA) has exciting exhibitions as do various other galleries in the City including the Anteros Art Gallery, Mandel’s gallery to name a few. There is the theatre Royal, Maddermarket theatre and the Norwich Playhouse with extensive and varied programs. There are a huge range of restaurants we can recommend from quiet local restaurants in nearby villages to lively restaurants in the City. All a short taxi or car drive away. We can also recommend caterers if you prefer to stay in and have food made for you. There are so many options!

I am married to the owner and wine maker John Hemmant of Chet Valley Vineyard next to which the Vine House is located. I work full time in the NHS and at the university. I love wine and wine travel. Our property has a very strong vineyard and wine link. The Vine House offers space, peace and tranquility in a rural setting. We are available for advice and support as we live just round the corner the other side of the vineyard.
