We rescued this adorable cottage that has been on our block for over 100 years. It was slated for demolition, we had it moved onto our extra lot. Tons of charm in 710 square feet.

It was built in 1911 and has a living/dining room, eat-in kitchen, bathroom, large bedroom with queen bed, full laundry room, front and back porch and private yard for your enjoyment.

It is fully furnished, walking distance to Greenwood business district and buses, and ready for your long term stay in Seattle!

The space
Enter to a large comfortable living and dining room with box beam ceilings and carpeted floor. Television with Roku remote including local TV, Netflix and Amazon Prime. Dining table seats four. Large windows let in lots of light and have full length room darkening curtains. New ductless heater/air conditioner keeps the home comfortable consistently in any season.

Charming kitchen fully stocked with cooking essentials. Check out the hand laid parquet floor while you enjoy your breakfast.

Spacious, cool and quiet back bedroom with a ceiling fan, light blocking shades, dresser, large closet, bedside tables and bookshelf with books for your stay.

The bathroom is small, but completely updated with fan, heat, new tiles, bathtub with shower, towels and toiletries.

The laundry room has a washer and dryer and closet with cleaning supplies and room for your storage. Bikes and gear can also be stored in the laundry room. This leads to the back porch and backyard access. Quiet street with plenty of street parking.

The lawn is mowed weekly and planting areas maintained. Pick raspberries, blueberries and tomatoes in the summer; rosemary, bay and other herbs available year round. An outdoor table and chairs are available for your use.

Where you’ll be

Seattle, Washington, United States

Greenwood is a great neighborhood, with restaurants, bars, breweries, coffee shops. We also have a Fred Meyer supermarket, Post Office, Library, 2 parks, and lots of little free libraries. Everything is in walking distance to our house. For something unique, check out the Greenwood Space Company, Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery, or Chuck's Hop Shop, with a daily rotation of food trucks.

Within 1-3 miles of the house are the Woodland Park Zoo, Greenlake beaches and park, the Fremont and Ballard neighborhoods, movie theaters, Puget Sound beaches and parks, Northgate Mall, tons of great restaurants, bakeries, cafes and breweries. You won't be bored, we promise!

I moved to Seattle from Berkeley in 1987 and finally fell in love with Seattle when I began homeschooling my kids. We homeschool for middle school and have a blast exploring the Northwest!

I lived in the 'Freelard' (Fremont/Ballard) house until I was pregnant with my second child, it is a sweet place to live and I'm happy to share it and the neighborhood with you.

I've enjoyed being a guest at some Airbnb's and know what guests want--a CLEAN, comfortable, safe place in a great location. The great thing is that Airbnb provides both space and a neighborhood you just don't get in a hotel.

Hope you enjoy my place and don't hesitate to ask me questions.
