Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Located in the South of England at East Chiltington near Lewes in the South Downs National Park, Hut Therapy offers therapeutic accommodation in a bespoke hut in the owner's garden, for 2 adults + 1 child*. We serve plant-based and macrobiotic quality food with special diets catered for naturally. There is access to London, Brighton, Lewes & Gatwick Airport by train; the Heritage Coast & Newhaven Ferry Port are 20 minutes by car. *If child or pet: contact the owner before booking.

The space
The Space is a bespoke, therapeutic hut which sits in the corner of a mature, private garden. It has a double cabin bed, an en-suite wc/shower room and small sitting area. One small child can be accommodated on a futon mattress: this rolls out on to the wood floor and stows away under the cabin bed during the day. There is a fridge, facilities for making hot drinks (including complementary herbal teas, grain coffee, grain milk, natural sweetener) as well as everything you need to prepare a cold meal - chopping board, plates, cups, cutlery etc, as well as an electric kettle & toaster. It also has a washing machine, and there is a rotary dryer in the garden. There is no microwave as these do not sit with our macrobiotic ethos of slow, mindful living.

Guest access
Guests have access to the gardens: there is a dining area on our sun-deck and additional benches to sit in our front and back gardens. Breakfast and evening meals are served in the garden on the deck; breakfast can be left outside your door to eat in the Hut.

Other things to note
This is a B&B: the Airbnb price includes accommodation & breakfast for 2 people.

There is a small surcharge for B&B to accommodate a third adult or child over 5 years old.

Accommodation is free to babies and infants, if sharing the cabin bed or using a travel cot. Regretfully, it is not possible to provide good quality, mainly organic plant based food without charge to children, infants or babies.

During the pandemic, and in order to protect our guests against possible transmission of the Covid 19 virus, we allow a 72 hour buffer between all bookings. UK government guidelines recommend to leave accommodations empty for 72 hours in the event a guest contracts symptoms during their stay, or brings the virus to the accommodation, unknowingly. For this reason the accommodation is not available on Airbnb’s Instant Book System. If you wish to make a booking, please contact the host.

We accept an assistance dog or we can usually accommodate ONE well behaved dog - accompanied at all times in the Hut. However it is not possible to accommodate a dog if using the roll up futon mattress, if your dog is on heat (we have an uncastrated male dog), a puppy/young dog (who likes to chew) etc. We love dogs here but our primary intention is to support people with plant-based food rather than dogs.

There is a no smoking & vaping policy in the Hut, communal areas inside, and outside in the garden. We ask visitors not to burn candles or have other naked flames in the Hut.

We are situated in a rural area: mobile reception is dependant on your mobile provider - Vodaphone & 3i provide the best reception. Wifi reception is only available at the front of the Hut, but unavailable in the back - in the sleeping area and shower-room.

As this is a therapeutic space, there is no table or desk in the Hut for writing or drawing so guests bringing laptops to work use them on their laps. Should you need good Wifi reception, or table & chairs, these can be found on the decking next to the house.

East Chiltington is a small hamlet of less than 200 households situated in the South Downs National Park - an area of outstanding natural beauty. A network of footpaths leading to the Downs and the South Downs Way (National Trail) are at the door. Although we are not far from London & Brighton, East Chiltington is a farming community; people choose to come here to get away from urban life & the mainstream. We are situated a mile from a B road.
