SILENT AND CENTRAL
Åbytorp is an estate on the countryside in a landscape of forrest and lakes. Here, you still have a possibility to find a small beach for yourself, to walk for hours in the company of just trees and animals. Here you can find space.

Still, as much as we enjoy silence, integrity and space, there is also a pleasure in exchange, sharing and social company. We would like to offer guests the possibility either to be alone or to interact! In Åbytorp there are two guesthouses, and another house where we live ourselves. Each house has its own space and is self-sufficient, but there is also space enough to meet in the evenings, on the beach, or to make excursions together if there are other guests. We are of course also there to give advice about activities, help with equipment and tell some stories about ourselves, the houses and the surrounding cities.

Åbytorp is 15km away from both Degerfors - trainstation between Stockholm and Oslo, and Laxå, trainstation between Stockholm and Göteborg. Close and easy to reach.

In many senses - we are in the middle AND nowhere!

ACTIVITIES
From Åbytorp you are directly connected to the famous hikingpath "Berlgslagsleden". Canoepath is 200 meters away, you can swim or fish in lake Toften, which you reach by foot or bike. If the lake is frosen you can skate or ski.
National naturepark Tiveden, skiing, orienteering or golf in Degerfors, downhill skiing in Ånnaboda, pittoresque Askersund, Artmuseum "Kristinehamns konstmuseum", cheesemaker "Ostbiten", deer- and elk-smokehouse "Hygns vilt" and cloisterruin "Riseberga" and the cities Örebro and Karlstad are all in a days excursion reach (15-90km away).

We have contacts with fishing- and natureguides as well as hunting organisors. We will be happy to organise their services for you.

GUESTHOUSE #2:
Each room is unique from architecture to interior design. We like to offer a personal atmosphere as much as the practical conveniences. Most things are reused, rebuilt, found or second-hand objects chosen with care. The main structure of the house itself comes from the archipelago of Stockholm, from which we moved it to Åbytorp! Only the big livingroom has been added to the house here.
