Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
Step back in time at our pretty, former lead miner's cottage at the end of a quiet, cobbled, terrace in Rhandirmwyn with wonderful views of the Towy valley. Great for bird watching, hill walking, cycling, swimming, or just relaxing. Enjoy the scenery from the garden with your morning cuppa. The sky is stunning on a clear night, see the milky way and shooting stars! Take a look at our insta account @cottageinrhandirmwyn to get a feel for the cottage and the local area.

The space
No 8 is a cottage full of character built in the early 19th century as accomodation for lead miners. It is centrally heated by a multifuel stove great for toasty evenings by the fire and is kitted out with an eclectic mix of junk shop finds and quirky soft furnishings. Books and old fashioned board games are provided.

Pathfinder maps show the best routes for a range of local walks along the beautiful river Towy, in woodland filled with birdsong, or on the tops of the hills with spectacular views.

The upper Towy valley is a special place with a rich wildlife that includes, pied Flycatchers, Red Kites, Foxes, and Polecats. The local flora is also lovely, snowdrops carpet the ground marking the sites of ruined cottages in february, followed by the yellow starry flowers of Celandines, Daffodils crowd the hedgerows in March, and Spring moves into summer with Red Campion, Honeysuckle and Meadowsweet wreathing the lanes.

Guest access
Guests will be able to access the whole cottage and its large garden.

Other things to note
There is no parking on the terrace itself but there is parking on the two laybys nearby slightly further up the hill.
