Through the Woods Farm is our 23-acre homestead. Located in the heart of northern Dutchess County; we're minutes from Omega, and the villages of Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Millbrook, and Hyde Park. The apartment is perfect for a single guest or a couple, or a couple with small child(ren). While it accommodates four, there is an upcharge for bookings above two guests. If you're looking for a peaceful, rural getaway in an immaculate, private apartment, you've found it!

The space
The four-room space is bright and airy with wonderful views out the many windows of our rural setting. There are two bedrooms; a large open-concept kitchen/dining/great room; a spacious loft overlooking the great room; a screened-in porch; one full bath; and a generous, private entryway with plenty of storage for bicycles, skis, strollers, and luggage. The total number of guests is limited to four to maximize your enjoyment of the space. Completely rebuilt in 2018 and decorated with a charming, eclectic mix of vintage finds and new furniture, the apartment space is private. We live in the adjoining house and will greet you upon arrival and assist you as needed. Paved parking for guests' vehicles (up to two) is available at the end of a short sidewalk to the apartment's front door. The apartment is set back from the road on a 1/4-mile long driveway. Our guests remark how peaceful it is to stay at the farm and how much they enjoy being in the country while also so close to a wide variety of restaurants, tourist attractions, hiking trails, great small-town retailers, outdoor activities, nearby colleges and more. We maintain the space with a very high standard for cleanliness and upkeep. We expect our guests to respect those same standards while occupying the apartment.

We live on a quiet, lane-and-a-half wide dirt road, surrounded by farms, estates, and neighbors we've known for 30+ years. Our property is located in the Town of Clinton (within the Staatsburg postal zone). We're far enough off the beaten path that you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere but you're actually within 15 to 20 minutes of the villages of Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Millbrook, and Hyde Park. This is a rural, residential neighborhood dotted with horse farms and connected by narrow dirt roads and winding paved roads. Omega Institute is under three miles from our farm: a 7-minute car ride; 15-minute bike ride; or 52-minute walk (so says a very popular maps app!)

During your stay

We welcome our guests to the farm in person and do a REQUIRED walkthrough of the space upon arrival. After that, it’s up to you! If you prefer to be left to yourself, we will. But if there's anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable, please let us know. We live here full time and are frequently outside working in our gardens, tending to livestock, etc. You will see and hear us as we go about our daily routines.
