A luxury 1 and 1/2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment in the center of Harlem's Sugar Hill with private entrance on 147th Street and backyard patio. It is fully furnished with the latest appliances and amenities, including flat screen TV with cable, WIFI, stove/oven with warmer, side-by-side refrigerator-freezer, dishwasher, private washer & dryer in the apartment, coffer/espresso makers, microwave, blender, fully furnished kitchen for meals and entertaining (plates, glasses, cultery, cups, saucers, pots & pans, etc). It also has lots of storage space.
It can easily accommodate up to 6 persons with its queen sized bed in the bedroom, queen sized sofa bed in the living room and sufficient space to use the full sized and twin air mattresses available.
The apartment is on the lower level of a 2-family brownstone located on a quiet, tree-lined street between Broadway and Riverside Drive. By car there is easy access to the west side destinations north and south, approximately a mile from the George Washington Bridge. Pulic transportation is easily accessible by taxi, subway or bus. The numbers 4, 5, 11 and 19 buses service the area with stops on Broadway and Riverside Drive. The M60 bus is also available nearby for travel to and from LaGuardia Airport. Subway - IND lines A and D (Express), B and C (Local); IRT lines #1 line - M3, M18, M100 and M101 are also available close by.
The apartment is located in a diverse cultural neighborhood with a rich history in the arts. It is 3 blocks south of Riverside Park where the 'Invisible Man Sculpture' of Ralph Ellison (150th St and Riverside Drive) is located. Mr Ellison's last home was across from the site at 730 Riverside Drive for many years. The community has long been a home of choice for other noted artists and professionals.
There is also a very diverse selection of quality food establishments in the neighborhood, such as Unione - Cafe Bar (Italian) at 149th, Harlem Public, Cova's (Italian)at 12th 138th Street, Tanto Dulce Cafe on Broadway, Starbucks at 145th & Bradhurst, Picante Mexican at 139th & Broadway, the Grange at 1635 Amsterdam, Ecuatoriana Restaurant (Ecuadoria/Spanish) at Amsterdam Avenue between 143rd and 144th, Sweet Chef Southern Style Battery at 122 Hamilton Place, Dunkin Donuts at 148 & Broadway, Raw Soul Restaurant & Juice Bar at 145 between Edgecombe & St Nicholas, McDonalds at 145th and Broadway, Burger Kings at Broadway & 143, Subway at 146th and Broadway, etc. The neighborhood also has a number of deli's and newspaper stands for people on the go.
Grocery stores are also conveniently located: Key Food at Broadway between 145 & 146, the Fairway at 133rd & 12th Avenue, etc.
There are daily and weekly tours offered in the neighborhood including walking tours of the Sugar Hill/Hamilton Heights area where you can see the home of Alexander Hamilton, the main campus of City College of New York at 141st and Convent Avenue.
A nice walk south will take you to Grant's Tomb at Riverside Drive and 122nd Street in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of Columbia University, Union Seminary, Manhattan School of Music, etc. You can also easily get there by public transportation.
The apartment is also two blocks from Riverbank State Park(entrance at 145th street) which is a secure venue offering all types of physical activities, including but not limited to, tennis, handball, basketball (indoor and outdoor courts), baseball, track, skating (ice-skating during the winter), swimming (indoor and outdoor olympic sized pools),a children's jungle gym, etc. The park also has indoor performing arts space and an amphitheater on the Hudson River. There is even a wonderful children's carousel. Most activities are free or offered at very low cost. Free concerts, plays and other functions geared towards a diverse community are offered year round.

I live upstairs in the main house so I am usually available if needed.
I love the diversity of my neighborhood . Our neighborhood is a very welcoming community. I also like the freedom afforded by its safeness. It's accessibility to all forms of public transportation is a special plus!
The accessibility to public transportation is one of the neighborhood's strengths. You can get to the #1, A, B, C and D subways within 2 to 3 blocks as well as to the #4, 5 and 19 buses. There is also free and paid parking for travel by car.
Other things to note
There are a lot of wonderful restaurants in the neighborhood as well as a large state park, Riverbank that has lots of activities. My favorite is the path that runs along the Hudson River for walking , running and riding bikes.
