Experience Quito like a local at the parish "La Loma Grande" from 1734, on a refurbished colonial building equipped with modern comfort. We have very soft beds, a big shower head with hot water, Wifi, and a TV with Netflix to rest from your day-trips and walks. We are walking distance from Quito´s main attractions, the colonial school of arts, main square and the Society of Jesus church. La Ronda is next almost next door, and downtown has many good restaurants and chocolate and coffee shops.

The space
La Loma Grande holds its traditional feeling with its colonial architecture, the stores around and its residents. The 1930 school Liceo Fernandez Madrid is on that same street, so it can be crowded at noon. The central bus terminal was turned into a Recreational Park in 2009. Now there is a gym, they give dancing lessons, and aerobics, there are soccer courts, and galleries, where local artists usually exhibit. The parish turned is very cool. Now businesses are opening up around and young people is coming to live here. La Ronda street is turning around the corner, and still at our place is peaceful. We have put a lot on our home, there are handcrafts from all around Ecuador, and many pictures. The main room is called the Llamas, and there is the Forest and the small one is the Moorlands. The rooftop is available and has a gorgeous view of all downtown.

Access is very easy, we are located very close to the express way that leads to the main highways of Quito: the Panamerican and la occidental. Going to the modern district is fast, with a the trolley two blocks away, or the metro five blocks away (it is not operational yet).
Also, Elizabeth, our house keeper that is our next floor neighbor can be of assistance if needed. She is always happy to know people.

Guest access

Location

Quito, Pichincha, Ecuador

The traditional parish of "La Loma Grande" at the historic Center of Quito is off the traffic and noise, but still very close to mayor attractions: public transportation is a 2 minute walk, San Francisco church is 7, and the basilica 15. But the parish itself is an attraction with small stores and shops, schools, local food restaurants. It is a great place to experience the normal way of living. La Ronda street is a throw-of-stone away.

Nature and history is what moves me most. Any destination full of any of those is good. Some books I like, or may say I found them special, Damian de H.H., El Libro de Arena of J.L. Borges, The Prince of Dostoivesky. I think Alien, the first one, is the best thriller ever, and Pink Panther de Peter Sellers is great! I like music the most, all kinds, types, times, a lot form the 70s and 60s, and classics, but I do not like Reggaeton. haha. When traveling I like to stay long on each destination, take some time, walk a lot and rest as pleased. I love my Family and Nature very much.

During your stay
I am a licensed National Guide with more than 15 years of experience. I have a true passion for Ecuador, and Quito, and traveling. I have taken travelers and guests throughout the country looking for what to each of them will make their experience unique, because everybody is different, and has different likes and expectations. The real very cool thing about my job is not the place, but the people I am with. The two schools located on Rocafuerte filling with movement the street at noon, and the street still has soft traffic.
