Our cottage is on a beautiful, quiet 3.5 acre oak covered property down a country road in the Carneros region of Sonoma. Wrap-around porches provide added outdoor space to enjoy pastoral views. Minutes to wineries and the historic Sonoma Plaza.

The space

Please Note:
For groups of adults we have a minimum age of 28 and we are kindly selective of welcoming groups of up to 5 adults (Please see House Rules).

Couples, small groups of close friends, and families would be comfortable in our cottage. The cottage provides amazing value for it's size of about 900 square feet. There is so much functionality packed into the space, yet it retains a real open spacious feeling. You will walk into a living area with a vaulted ceiling. In this area is a pull-out couch with a twin bed, and a pull-out sectional with a full bed. The living area is open to the fully equipped kitchen that includes a gas stove, refrigerator and dishwasher. The kitchen cafe table seats up to three, and the bar seats three. Off one side of the living area, you will find a bedroom with a king bed, and a ladder leading to the loft with a twin bed. There is a curtain along the loft to provide visual privacy. The bedroom has a walk-through closet connected to a full bathroom with a heated floor and a shower (no tub). Off the other side of the living area is a room that contains the washer/dryer, a desk, a library of games and books, and this room leads to a second half bathroom. The outdoor spaces include a back deck with a gas grill and furniture to dine al fresco, a wrap around porch with lounge seating to relax and enjoy the wonderful views and peaceful surroundings.

Guest access

As a guest you will enjoy a very private and quiet retreat with access to amenities both outside on the property and in the house. In addition to the wrap-around porch and private back deck with a gas BBQ, there is a slack line and a walking path to the back of property. A selection of bicycles are available for your use (no helmets). Inside there is high-speed wireless internet, TV with on demand, a small library of books, dvd's and board games and an electronic keyboard. The kitchen is completely stocked as though you were in your own home, including dishes, utensils, pots and pans, a small pantry of necessities, and condiments in the fridge.

Interaction with guests

We will be available by text, e-mail and phone during your stay and will make every effort possible to accommodate requests and questions.

Other things to note

This is our family retreat and over the last few years we have put our hard work into making the cottage functional and added our own personal touches to make it as enjoyable as possible.

We want you to walk into the cottage to relax and truly enjoy what the Sonoma area has to offer!

Respect and Philosophy: The cottage is in a nice, quiet area. We hope our guests will acknowledge the Sonoma County noise ordinance and maintain peace and quiet from 10pm to 9am. We clean the cottage ourselves with care (we do not hire out the housekeeping), and we make an extra effort to ensure everything is in working order, well stocked, and very tidy. This is not a party house and we expect the guest who books our cottage will communicate all house rules to everyone staying at the cottage. If you agree with this philosophy, we are truly excited to share the space and ask that you treat the property with gentle respect.

No pets and No smoking allowed.
No extra guests during length of stay.
Please leave your shoes at the door.

The cottage is in an idyllic, peaceful location with stunning mountain views to the north. The cottage welcome pack was beautifully organised with detailed directions to all local amenities clearly described. The place is fantastically equipped and we couldn’t have wished for anything more during our stay. Having the bikes to travel to and from Wineries was wonderful, with Sonoma Plaza within easy biking distance. All in all a top-notch first AirBnb experience.

My friends and I stayed here as our first stop in California - what a perfect way to start our trip! Ken and Mary Beth were super helpful and very quick to respond to our queries. They made some great recommendations. The cottage is beautiful and a perfect size for 5 of us. The bed, snug and sofa beds were all really comfy. The decor in the house is very tasteful and it has absolutely everything you need. The little notes were a lovely personal touch to help you find your way around. We ate in on a couple of occasions, al fresco dining on the porch as the sun set was lovely. (Equally watching the sun rise was incredible!) It's so nice having the huge outdoor space and the bikes, so peaceful. It's an easy drive into Sonoma and an easy drive or cycle to a number of wineries. We really enjoyed San Francis and Kunde where you can tour the wine caves (both a 20min drive). We also drove up to Calistoga for a hike up Oat Hill Mine and then to a spa for a natural thermal mud bath - lots of fun! I can't recommend this place highly enough. Thank you so much Ken and Mary Beth for a fantastic stay :)

Mary Beth and Ken have gone above and beyond to offer a 5-star Airbnb experience. From the stylish space, amazing amenities, to the thoughtful touches and quick communication- this host has it all. The cottage is a stand alone space that is wonderful for embracing nature all the while a stones throw from wonderful local diners and wineries (under priced for the value provided). Thanks again Mary Beth and Ken for a fantastic 4 day weekend! We will be back!!

My daughter and I had a 4 day weekend in the Napa/Sonoma area and wanted to do some wine tasting and check out some of the wineries. We spent 4 days at Ken and Mary Beth's cottage and we couldn't have asked for anything better!! The cottage is a few miles from downtown Sonoma and surrounded by vineyards, which we spent our mornings riding bikes through these vineyards. What an awesome time we had !!! They had fresh, cold water waiting for us when we arrived on Friday, some food in the fridge and snacks on the counter. They must have known we were going to be hungry and thirsty when we got there!! They had supplied the whole cottage with amenities like shampoo, conditioner, soaps, makeup remover, candles, movies, etc. They even left us a note welcoming us to the cottage and to help ourselves to anything in the cottage. Also, they stated we could use the bikes that were located in the garage. That put a big smile on my face because I knew that we were going to take advantage of that !!! Loved the fact that the driveway is secured with 2 locked gates, felt very secure and safe. Would I stay here again if I had the chance, heck ya !!! I have already asked Ken and Mary Beth if we could stay there next September and can't wait for the trip !!! I'm sure it would be a very romantic place for a couple who want to spend some quiet time together and make some wonderful memories, and I would highly recommend staying at the Cozy Cottage in Carneros.

Cozy Cottage is a lovely place located in a quiet spot off the beaten path, but near Sonoma and a short drive to the other small towns in both Sonoma and Napa counties. Everything was just as described. Ken and Mary Beth were extremely attentive hosts who made sure we had everything we needed, and then some. Our stay coincided with record breaking temperatures (>110 degrees). There is no air conditioning, but with the fans provided, we were very comfortable at night for sleeping. There are bikes (no helmets) offered, but since we were visiting to attend a wedding, we didn't have time to use them. Ken and Mary Beth provided small notes throughout the cottage that really clarified some things at the "point of contact." This cottage is perfect for two adults with or without children. We had a party of four adults and it was a little cramped. There is only one shower, but there is a separate 1/2 bath off the laundry room. Having access to a washer and dryer was also convenient. We'd rent this place again if we are ever back in the area.

Ken and Mary Beth's home was the perfect getaway for our Sonoma/Napa honeymoon. The house was immaculate and fully stocked with everything you would expect to find in your own home and more. While we were close to many wineries, restaurants and a great downtown area, the cottage itself is on a very quiet street with beautiful countryside views. We would definitely stay here again.
